Chapter 1614 Innocence Will Be Lost
"Killing him is an option."
"Then let's do it." He said it like he was talking about the weather.
Calla's lips curled into a smile. "Alright, get your team moving. Over the past few years, I've already found the numbers and codes on five of the badges. You and your team just need to find the remaining fifteen. Some of these numbers are useful, some aren't. You'll need to see the codes to know for sure. The codes and numbers are on the side of the badges and can only be seen with a magnifying glass. The council members never let the badges out of their sight, let alone allow anyone to examine them closely."
"Once we have the badge numbers from all nineteen council members, we can figure out how to deal with Zaid. We can leave his badge for last. Don't make a move on him yet, or he'll quickly realize you're in the base. He's a madman and capable of anything. If we alert him, our next steps will be even more difficult."
Raymond nodded and immediately went out to contact his team.
He and Clifton could only communicate through the ventilation duct above. Clifton had always been in control in Vistalia, but ever since seeing Lawrence captured, he hadn't been in a good mood.
"Raymond, shouldn't we consider Lawrence's situation?"
Raymond's lips twitched. "Didn't the mating fail? Don't worry, there shouldn't be any Smith family kids left here."
"Damn it!" Clifton rarely swore, but he couldn't hold back this time.
Raymond was right; the machine did show the mating failed. But what if it had succeeded? Lawrence's innocence would be lost.
In the past few days, Raymond had used the ventilation duct to visit the experimental box where Lawrence was kept. The woman locked in the same box seemed quite satisfied with him. Even though he was unconscious, she was feeding him.
Her feeding method was rough, though. She had lived in the experimental box her whole life and didn't know how to interact with people.
The screen inside the box played videos teaching her how to seduce Lawrence and how to kiss him.
She had learned to kiss, but she didn't know what to do beyond that.
Over the past two years, many men had been placed in her box, but she hadn't liked any of them and had killed them all. This time, however, she wanted to keep Lawrence around for a few more days.
Lawrence hadn't woken up, and she just stared at him. When the researchers tried to replace him, she rushed to protect him, hiding him behind her and angrily demanding that the others leave.
Raymond saw everything clearly from the ventilation duct. He felt a bit speechless but also thought that, at least for now, Lawrence was doing okay.
A man's dignity was worthless compared to his life.
"Raymond, be honest with me. Are you unhappy with Lawrence?"
Otherwise, how could he remain so calm seeing Lawrence in such a state?
Raymond didn't continue the conversation. Instead, he told Clifton to get the codes and numbers from two of the badges.
Clifton was responsible for two, while the others each had one.
Not all of his people had survived. Several had been taken for experiments as soon as they arrived.
No one survived the experiments. Lawrence, in a way, was lucky.
It helped that he was quite good-looking.
