Chapter 314 Just Illusions

The crowd watching the drama started to thin out. To show her great love to her sister, Olivia, personally walked Sofia to the car.

Selena stood there, frozen. When she saw Raymond heading her way, she felt an urge to step back.

Raymond got closer, towering over her.

Selena looked up slightly, her eyes now calm, as if last night's tender moments were just a dream.

"Penny," Raymond called out, wanting to say more, but then Olivia came back.

"Raymond, breakfast is ready downstairs. You guys probably haven't eaten yet. Let's go down and eat first." Olivia, seeing Raymond so close to Selena, felt a surge of jealousy and quickly approached.

Olivia added, "Penny, I've already sent Sofia home. We're looking into that drink incident. Since she apologized, I hope you won't make a big deal out of it."

Her tone was a bit condescending, but Selena didn't care. She was hungry.

Selena hadn't eaten dinner last night and now felt like she'd done a marathon in her sleep. She was starving.

She nodded and pulled the still-dazed Mia beside her. "Shall we?"

Mia snapped out of it, feeling a rush of anxiety. Was she caught in some drama?

Mia, still young and boyfriend-less, wished she could bolt.

But she nodded. "Okay."

Hearing her, Selena headed downstairs.

Mia thought for a moment, then turned back and said, "Raymond, Olivia, you should come down too."

Raymond stood there, seeing Selena's completely different attitude from last night, his eyes deepening. What was she playing at?

Downstairs, Selena sat down as waitstaff buzzed around with food carts. As soon as someone sat, they'd come over immediately.

Selena glanced outside; all the tanks with pricey seafood were gone.

She had gone to bed early and missed out.

Mia sat next to Selena, taking the items handed over by the waitstaff and placing them in front of her.

Mia said, "Penny, you must be starving. Eat something first."

Selena sighed. "It's a shame. I only had a small dessert last night and missed the seafood before bed."

Mia's hands froze as she thought, 'You missed it because you snuck off with Raymond.'

But she didn't dare say that, so she just said, "Oh, a shame indeed."

She had brought Selena here for the great food, which was way better than high-end restaurants. Mia saw it as a way to thank Selena for helping her with her drawings.

But who would've thought she'd end up sending Raymond away?

Mia didn't know whether to regret it or be happy. After all, Raymond had Olivia, and their relationship seemed solid. Plus, he had a wife he was about to divorce. Penny getting involved with Raymond would be messy. Unless it was just one-night fling. But Raymond wouldn't do that, right?

Selena thanked her. As she picked up the knife and fork to cut the steak, she saw Raymond and Olivia walking over, seemingly heading to her table.

Selena was puzzled. What was Raymond doing? Didn't he see Olivia's sour face? Were they going to talk about Manston Manor? Now didn't seem like the time.

Despite her inner grumbling, she nodded politely when they approached. "Mr. Montague, Miss Stone."

Olivia, expressionless, clung tightly to Raymond's arm, fuming inside.

She had planned to take Raymond somewhere else, but he walked straight here, not giving her a chance.

Raymond sat opposite Selena. Seeing only a steak in front of her, he grabbed a hot milk from the food cart and pushed it over.

Selena's hands froze as she said a bit nervously. "Thank you, Mr. Montague."

"Penny," Raymond called her, not caring who heard. "What's on your mind?"

He saw no need to hide anything. He was very clear-headed last night.
