Chapter 174 Are You Crazy?

Raymond stayed quiet, turned off his phone, and pretended he didn't see Carter's message.

Selena, not knowing her painting had already reached Raymond, finished the late-night snack Lillian brought her and got ready for bed.

Max was snoozing under the bed, his ears twitching every now and then.

Selena mentally went over her recent tasks and then had a really good night's sleep.

The next morning, after breakfast, she headed to the construction site.

The workers were super efficient, probably because Caterlington had given them a heads-up. Selena just needed to pick out the upcoming materials and tweak the on-site design a bit.

After making sure everything was running smoothly, Selena pulled out the list of materials. Except for the sandalwood flooring from Ridgefield, almost everything else could be bought on the market. With the connections she had built over the years, she could even get a good price.

The sandalwood flooring was the top priority now. After sorting everything out in Silver Bay City, she still had to make a trip to Ridgefield.

As Selena was about to drive off, she glanced at her phone. She hadn't gone to the Fair Villa last night, and the Fair Family had called her multiple times. This time, she had to make her stance clear.

Otherwise, James would keep making such demands in the future.

Now that the second round of financing had been successful, as long as the Fair Family didn't cause trouble, they could keep things running. No need to annoy Raymond any further.

Selena didn't return the calls, put down her phone, and was about to step on the gas when someone knocked on her car window. It was Jane.

Last time, Jane and Reid's affair had been caught by Reid's wife, who wasn't someone to mess with. She publicized Jane's affair in the studio, tanking Jane's reputation. Recently, Jane hadn't been bothering Matthew.

Now, seeing Jane knocking on Selena's car door with such a sour expression, was she here to cause trouble?

Selena rolled down the window and asked coolly, "What's up?"

Jane took a deep breath and forced a smile, saying, "The studio has a meeting today, and my car broke down. I saw you here, so can you give me a ride?"

Selena frowned. She didn't have a good relationship with Jane, so why should she give her a ride?

Jane raised her chin and continued, "Check the work group chat. Right now, only you and I aren't there. Mr. Clark has something important to say this time. You should go to the meeting, so give me a ride."

Selena glanced at the work group chat and saw a bunch of messages.

She didn't like Jane, who was selfish and always had something nasty to say. But if she didn't let her in, Jane would probably cause a scene at the studio later, making everything a mess.

Jane, sensing Selena's agreement, opened the car door and got in, casually saying, "Thanks."

Selena pretended not to hear.

As they merged into traffic, Jane suddenly asked, "Reid's wife made my affair public. You've been working with him for three years. You must have known his wife for a long time, right?"

Selena kept her eyes on the road and didn't respond.

Jane got agitated and shouted, "So you set me up that night, getting me caught by his wife, and making me a laughingstock!"

Reid's wife wasn't someone to mess with. She blasted Jane's affair all over social media, turning Jane into a public joke.

Selena found it amusing and shot back, "Did I make you get involved with Reid?"

If you do something, be ready for the fallout.

A cheating man is no good, and being a mistress means being ready to take the heat.

Jane retorted, "Selena! You bitch! That night I was with Reid, weren't you also with some rich guy? You were so messed up you couldn't even walk. What right do you have to judge me!"

Selena had just been injured that night, making her walk awkwardly, unlike Jane.

But in Jane's eyes, Selena was just a slut who seduced people randomly. Otherwise, how could she always land such good projects?

A flash of anger crossed Selena's eyes. She couldn't believe how rude Jane was, especially after Selena had agreed to give her a ride.

"I'm pulling over. You can walk the rest of the way," she said.

As soon as she finished speaking, Jane grabbed the steering wheel. "Go to hell!"

"Jane, are you crazy?" Selena shouted.

The car skidded heavily in the middle of the road and then sped towards the distance.

The oncoming car collided head-on, causing both vehicles to start smoking.

Jane was still cursing, even screaming like a madwoman.

Selena then realized that asking for a ride was just an excuse. Jane had always planned to grab the steering wheel. From the moment she got into the car, she had already thought of her revenge.

Fortunately, the airbags deployed, and neither of them was injured.

Selena was furious but had to kick open the car door and check the other car.

When she realized it was Grace in the other vehicle, her expression changed, and she quickly pushed open the slightly warped car door.
