Chapter 374 A Beneficiary
Victoria's eyes narrowed. She wanted to point at her nose and curse, but catching sight of the bodyguards, she thought better of it.
Steven, the only college grad in the family, always felt a bit superior.
So he lectured Selena condescendingly, "How can you talk to your grandmother like that? You clearly have no manners. James and Barbara never went to college, and look at yourself. Selena, listen to me. I went to college, and so did Lance and Leonard. it's an honor for you to let them into your family."
Steven just assumed that since James and Barbara didn't go to college, Selena must be uneducated, too, completely clueless that she graduated from a top university.
Selena slowly put down the cup in her hand and looked at Lance and Leonard.
Their eyes were full of greed, no surprise there.
Selena frowned, too lazy to waste words on this bunch. "Get out, all of you. I don't want to say it again."
Steven's face darkened, and he stood up. "You really have no manners. Is this how they raised you?"
Selena threw the cup on the ground, making Steven jump.
Selena leaned back, her presence suffocating everyone in the room. "Why didn't my dad go to college? His grades were better than yours, but the family favored you, so he had to work early. He earned only twenty or thirty bucks a day, all of which he gave to our grandparents to support you through college. As a beneficiary, what right do you have to shout in front of me?"
She squinted her eyes. "If you think pestering me will work, go ahead and try. Out of my house in ten minutes, Or my bodyguards will do it."
Steven didn't expect her to be so tough.
All his plans went out the window in the face of her absolute power.
He couldn't say a word, feeling humiliated. He was a college graduate, yet he was embarrassed in front of Selena!
Gritting his teeth, he pointed a trembling finger at Selena. "Don't get too cocky. When your stepmother gives all your family's money to her son, let's see who you'll cry to!"
Seeing that he couldn't get any benefits, he became desperate.
Selena found it amusing. "I'd rather feed the assets to the stray dogs than give them to you heartless relatives!"
Steven and Victoria felt extremely humiliated but couldn't argue back.
Victoria pretended to collapse on the ground. "Woe is me. James makes money but doesn't support us."
She cried and kicked her legs.
Selena just instructed the maid beside her. "Is there boiling water in the kitchen? Whoever lies on the ground, pour it on them. I can afford the medical bills."
As soon as she finished speaking, the still-crying Victoria quickly stood up, her fingers trembling.
Seeing that they couldn't get anything here, Steven and Victoria exchanged glances and decided to leave.
Steven still felt humiliated, his hand hanging by his side clenched into a tight fist.
