Chapter 113 Ask Maggie to Come Back
These clothes were all custom-made, with over a dozen sets, each one incredibly beautiful and exquisitely crafted.
Since they didn't have price tags, Maggie had no idea how much they cost, but she felt that they were expensive because the fabric and drape of the dresses were excellent.
Each outfit perfectly showcased Maggie's most beautiful side, both conservative yet stunning at the same time.
Maggie put on a set of red velvet cheongsam, with a droplet-shaped neckline, sexy and elegant.
She casually pinned up her hair with a hairpin, with a few playful strands hanging down, making her naturally beautiful face even more exquisite.
With her well-proportioned figure and slender waist, she looked incredibly charming and elegant in the cheongsam.
When Fiorello turned his head to look at her, he was completely stunned.
Enchanting yet not flashy, charming yet not vulgar.
"Do I look good?" This was the first time Maggie wore a cheongsam. Maggie felt like she couldn't walk properly.
"You look beautiful," Fiorello praised generously.
This cheongsam was not custom-made as requested by Fiorello, but rather a designer's gift to please Fiorello based on the measurements given.
The effect was obvious. Fiorello was very satisfied.
He walked over lifted his clearly defined hand, and smoothed down her handing strands of hair. "I'm so lucky to have such a beautiful wife."
Maggie pursed her lips and smiled. "You really know how to flatter."
He chuckled, his eyes sincere. "I'm telling the truth."
Maggie asked, "Why did you buy so many clothes? I can't possibly wear them all."
"Then you can change into a different outfit every day. I'll take care of making money, and my Honey just needs to stay beautiful."
"Then I’ll just become a beautiful woman with no value. I don't want that," Maggie said, as she really liked the cheongsam she was wearing but didn't have an appropriate occasion to wear such outfits.
"The outfit does look nice, but it would hinder my street vending," Maggie said. "I got fired from my job, so I've decided to continue selling things at the night market like I used to."
Fiorello simply replied, "If my wife were to wear this outfit outside, I would be worried sick."
It would definitely attract a lot of attention, some of it potentially unwelcome.
Maggie chuckled and said, "You aren't even angry when you hear that I got fired. I haven't been earning recently, and all the household relies solely on you. I'm feeling a bit anxious."
Maggie was used to being independent, and whenever she couldn't make money, she would feel anxious.
"My wife is so outstanding. Perhaps the company will soon come to ask you to return to work," Fiorello said. "The Quixote's family’s matter wasn't your fault."
"You've known that I got fired for a while now, haven't you?" Maggie wondered. 'Fiorello is also an employee of Visionary Futures Group, and he works at the headquarters. It's normal for him to know about this.'
Fiorello calmly replied, "I have some acquaintance with Mr. Jones from the branch office. I heard about it from him."
"Wow, honey, you know Mr. Jones," Maggie exclaimed, feeling surprised yet also admiring. She involuntarily called him "Honey."
Her use of "Honey" made Fiorello feel invigorated all over.
"I've met him at the company's annual meeting before. He was sent to the branch office from the headquarters," Fiorello explained.
Maggie had heard from other colleagues about Jones being assigned from the headquarters.
"Fiorello, you have been doing exceptionally well at the headquarters. As your wife, I might have held you back at the branch office. Luckily, no one knows about our relationship. Otherwise, I would have embarrassed you," Maggie said.
Fiorello smiled warmly, "You’re being too modest. You’re my pride. I have a friend who wants to meet you tonight, and we can have dinner together."
Benjamin had been wanting to meet Maggie. He had already sent a message to Fiorello early in the morning, he wondered who exactly was this person that managed to get Fiorello’s attention.
"Okay."
Upon hearing that she would meet Fiorello's friend, Maggie felt both nervous and excited. She was afraid of embarrassing Fiorello yet delighted that Fiorello was willing to introduce her into his circle and friends.
"I'll put away these clothes first."
It was inconvenient to be dressed so formally at home, especially in a cheongsam.
Maggie went back to the bedroom and changed into casual clothes, while Fiorello went to his study to handle some matters.
At that moment, the doorbell rang.
Maggie opened the door wearing casual clothes, went to answer the door and was surprised to see who was standing there.
"Selena, what are you doing at my doorstep?"
