Chapter 607 Discovered

Isabella was driving around the city, wandering for a long time.

Brian was following her discreetly, confident that he wouldn't be noticed. There was only one possibility: Isabella was being overly cautious, which was why she was driving in circles.

And that was indeed the case.

Isabella intentionally drove around before finally heading towards James's house.

Brian was following her while reporting the situation to Fiorello.

Brian worked for Fiorello, so any developments were reported to him immediately.

Maggie was pregnant and couldn't handle certain tasks, so Brian was keeping an eye on Isabella under Fiorello's instructions.

Knowing that Isabella had new developments, Fiorello said over the phone, "Keep following her and see where she goes. I'll be there soon."

"Yes," Brian replied, hanging up the phone and continuing to follow Isabella at a safe distance.

Isabella drove into an apartment complex. The complex was large, and Brian didn't dare follow too closely, losing her at the entrance.

Brian reported the situation to Fiorello, who immediately recognized the apartment complex as the one Isabella and James used to live in.

So, if Isabella was going to the apartment, she was likely heading to their old place, which would be easy to check. They just needed to ask the person in charge.

Following Fiorello's instructions, Brian went to find the person in charge.

Meanwhile, Isabella drove into the underground parking lot, carrying two bags of snacks, and took the elevator from the basement to her apartment.

Isabella went to the room where Adalia was being held. After being confined for so long, Adalia looked even more dazed.

When the light came on, Adalia was so scared that she hid under the blanket.

Isabella placed the snacks on the table and cleaned up the filth and snack wrappers on the floor.

Adalia ate and relieved herself in that room, and the air was filled with a foul stench. After cleaning, Isabella saw Adalia cowering at the head of the bed. She sat down and stared at Adalia.

"Are you scared of me?"

Adalia's eyes were wide open, her smelly hair sticking to her head like straw. She hadn't bathed or washed her hair in months and was filthy and stinky.

Isabella talked to herself, "Adalia, staying here isn't so bad. I give you food and a place to stay. As long as you behave, you'll be safe. The outside world is dangerous. I'm protecting you, you know? In this dark place, I'm also staying at home every day, in the dark. When will these days end?"

Adalia made an unpleasant sound, unable to speak anymore.

Isabella couldn't understand what Adalia was saying and smirked, "With you here, I'm not lonely. Adalia, we're in the same boat, you know."

Isabella talked a lot to Adalia, mostly to herself, while Adalia just stared at her.

Recalling the past, Isabella said, "I used to be very beautiful, you know that, right? I came from a privileged family and could buy whatever I wanted. After graduation, I married James. For eight years, everyone envied me, praised me for marrying so well. But now? They all praise Maggie instead, calling her the lucky one."

Adalia didn't understand the jealousy and conflicts between adults, nor did she comprehend Isabella's sorrow. She only felt fear and hatred towards Isabella.

Isabella stayed in the apartment for about forty minutes. When she came out with a trash bag, she accidentally spotted Brian following her through a glass reflection.

Isabella knew she had been exposed but remained calm. After disposing of the trash, she returned to the apartment, sat alone in the living room, and turned on the TV.

Brian, observing Isabella from outside, was puzzled.

He watched Isabella through binoculars for a long time and saw that she was just sitting there watching TV.

Could it be that Isabella had spent all that time cleaning?

Why would Isabella come to the house she used to live in with James?
