Chapter 567 Jenny Ran Away
Mark had a stroke at home, and Maggie immediately thought of Ashley.
Fiorello shook his head. " I'm not sure. Do you want to keep it from your dad for now, or...?"
"Let's keep it from him for now, until he recovers," Maggie said. "Can we investigate the source of the poison? The person who poisoned him doesn't know we are aware yet, maybe we can find more clues."
Fiorello said gently, "I'll have Brian go to London to investigate."
Maggie felt that the closer the wedding date, the more things were happening, and she was becoming increasingly uneasy.
She was more worried about Jenny's situation. With Jenny's personality, she felt that she wouldn't just sit and wait.
Currently, Jenny's condition had stabilized after being hospitalized to protect her pregnancy, and the doctor said she could be taken back to the police station.
However, something happened just as Jenny was about to be taken back to the police station.
That night.
The phone ringing awakened Fiorello. It was a call from the bodyguard he had assigned to watch Jenny secretly. Jenny had been rescued.
The person who rescued Jenny also injured a police officer.
Fiorello's brows furrowed coldly, "Who rescued Jenny?"
The Holmes family was in financial trouble, and Kevin was struggling to care for himself. He lacked the resources to take such a big risk to rescue Jenny.
Jenny was already a useless person.
"Not sure yet. The other party was prepared and led us away. The police have been alerted and have dispatched many officers to capture Jenny."
Maggie heard the phone ringing in her drowsiness. She opened her eyes and saw Fiorello looking worried. She sat up and asked, "What happened?"
Fiorello hung up the phone and said gravely, "Jenny escaped."
"How is that possible?"
Maggie was very surprised, "Weren't the police guarding her 24/7? How could Jenny have such capabilities?"
"That's what I'm curious about. Maggie, you go back to sleep. I need to go out for a bit." Fiorello got out of bed, grabbed his coat, and put it on.
Francis, who was in charge of Jenny's case, naturally couldn't sleep well tonight either.
Upon receiving the news of Jenny's escape, Francis immediately rushed to the hospital. From his colleagues who were responsible for guarding Jenny, he learned that the person who rescued Jenny had disguised themselves as a doctor, claiming to take Jenny for a check-up, which gave them the opportunity to get close to her.
As Francis listened to his colleagues' descriptions, he inspected the scene, "One person definitely couldn't have taken Jenny away. There must have been accomplices. Check the surveillance at all hospital entrances for any suspicious vehicles. Send someone to interrogate Kevin and see if we can get any clues."
"Francis, someone has already gone to interrogate Kevin. It seems Kevin doesn't know about this."
"Send someone to question Gregory as well," Francis said. "Jenny is carrying his child, so we can't rule out his involvement."
"Got it," a colleague said. "Francis, where could Jenny go while pregnant? She definitely can't leave Cyberland."
Francis glared at his colleague, "Stay and get caught?"
The colleague was speechless.
That made sense.
Jenny's hospitalization had caused the police to relax their guard, making it the best opportunity for her to escape. If she missed this chance, there wouldn't be another.
After inspecting the scene, Francis walked out of the hospital and ran into Fiorello, who had just arrived.
Francis sneered, "You got here fast."
"Just a bit later than you," Fiorello said without wasting words, "Did you find any clues?"
Francis replied coldly, "The police are handling the case. There's no need to report to you."
Fiorello smirked coldly, "You couldn't even guard a pregnant woman. Such a major dereliction of duty, you really have no face to talk."
Francis retorted, "If you weren't such a playboy, today's incident wouldn't have happened."
Fiorello got angry, "Francis."
"The people who helped Jenny are from a gang. You should think about who you've offended recently," Francis said. "Tell Maggie to be careful. Jenny holds a grudge against her and might come after her."
