Chapter 390 Children's Thoughts Could Be Terrifying

Seeing Emily approach, Susan quickly slipped out, grabbed her, and stuffed a cloth in her mouth.

They were in a shadowy, backlit area. Nervous since it was her first kidnapping, Susan didn't check the child's face closely. She tied her up and put her in a burlap sack.

Susan had planned this for days, rehearsing every step in her mind, which made her actions smooth.

With the sack on, Susan carried Emily away. Emily struggled, but Susan held her tight.

Susan had Alan's help. They silently took Emily to an abandoned building.

The place was deserted; no one would come here.

Alan used to work at this construction site, so he knew the area well.

They carried Emily to the fourth floor and stopped.

Susan's hand hurt from a cut Alan had given her earlier.

Despite their issues, they were united in finding Tommy.

The police had no leads, and the couple was desperate, resorting to this.

Seeing the sack stop moving, Susan said, "Hurry and untie it. Don't suffocate her, or Tommy won't come back."

Alan took a breath and untied the sack.

Emily wasn't suffocated, just exhausted from struggling. The small space made it hard to breathe, and she was dizzy.

When Alan opened the sack and saw Emily, he was stunned. "Who is this? This isn't Adalia. Where is Adalia?"

Susan looked closely and realized she had grabbed Emily.

"This is Maggie's daughter. It was too dark, and I saw the dress Adalia was wearing earlier, so I thought it was her."

"We got the wrong person. What now?" Alan complained, "You can't do anything right."

"I don't know," Susan said anxiously, "She was wearing Adalia's dress. She's Maggie's daughter, so it's not entirely wrong."

Susan squatted and glared at Emily. "Our son is missing, and Maggie is pregnant and has another daughter. All the good things happen to her. I want her to feel the pain of losing a child."

Emily, slightly recovering, saw Susan and the surroundings and screamed in fear.

She couldn't speak, just kept crying and struggling, trying to leave.

Susan pushed her to the ground. "You should accept this punishment as Maggie's daughter."

Alan asked, "Susan, what are you going to do? Don't do anything crazy. We just want to find our son."

Susan screamed, "You weren't afraid when you cut me, but now you're scared? Our son has been missing for so long, and it's all Maggie's fault. If my son is gone, Maggie won't have a good life either."

Meanwhile, at the bus station, Adalia was still waiting for Emily. Emily told her to wait here, so she obediently waited, afraid that if she left, Emily wouldn't find her.

Adalia got tired and sat on a step to wait. She didn't know where Emily had gone.

A passerby saw her alone and asked, "Little girl, why are you here alone? Where are your parents?"

"I'm waiting for Emily," Adalia said sweetly, "Pretty lady, it's so late, and I haven't gone home. My mom will be worried. Can you help me call my mom?"

The passerby asked, "Do you remember your mom's phone number?"

"Yes!" Adalia nodded. "She made sure I memorized both my parents' numbers."

Maggie had taught Adalia to remember her and Fiorello's phone numbers and their home address in case she got lost.

Kids have good memories, and Adalia had already learned a lot. Memorizing phone numbers was easy for her.

"Alright, I'll help you call your mom."

Both Emily and Adalia were missing, and Maggie was frantic, searching with Arya. Fiorello had also been called back.

Adalia's disappearance made Fiorello very worried. He was about to ask Brian for help when Maggie got a call from an unknown number, saying Adalia was at the bus station. She and Fiorello rushed over.

Seeing Adalia sitting on the steps, Maggie was overjoyed. "Adalia!"

Maggie and Fiorello ran towards her.

"Mom." Adalia stood up, happy to see her parents. "Mom, Dad."

During the two hours Adalia was missing, Maggie was extremely worried, and Fiorello was also very anxious. Seeing Adalia at the bus station, they were both relieved but puzzled.

Fiorello asked, "Adalia, why are you at the bus station? You left without saying anything. We were very worried."

Maggie also asked, "Where's Emily? Didn't she come with you?"

Adalia lowered her head, knowing she was wrong. "I'm sorry, Mom and Dad. I was wrong. Emily said she would take me out to play and told me to wait here. I don't know where she went."

Maggie asked, "How did you get here from so far away?"

Adalia confessed, "Emily took a cab with me."

Hearing this, Maggie and Fiorello exchanged glances, finding it hard to believe that Emily, a child under five, could do such a thing.

Adalia was wearing Emily's clothes, which made it clear that Emily had intentionally brought Adalia to the bus station and left her there.

To confirm this, they checked the bus station's surveillance footage and saw Emily taking a cab from another exit.

Maggie was shocked. "She's not even five years old."

It was unbelievable that such a young child could have such a deep scheme, bringing Adalia so far and then leaving quietly.

Maggie remembered how Emily had found her in the middle of the night before, so it was possible she had brought Adalia to the bus station in the same way.

Fiorello frowned. "That child is too cold-hearted."

Maggie asked, "It's been so long. Why hasn't she come back? Where did she go?"

Based on the time Emily left the bus station, she should have been home by now, but she hadn't returned.

This was indeed strange. Fiorello said, "The surveillance footage has the cab driver's license plate number. I'll have someone check it. It's late; let's take Adalia home first."

Fiorello picked up Adalia. She worried about Emily, asked, "Dad, did bad people take Emily?"

In Adalia's mind, she didn't know Emily had abandoned her. She was still naively waiting for Emily and now worried that bad people had taken her.

Fiorello said, "Let's go home first. Maybe Emily is already back."

Fiorello, deep down, had no fondness for Emily since they had met, let alone any affection.

Now, knowing that Emily had intentionally left Adalia at the bus station, he liked her even less.
