Chapter 527 Hoping for Clear Skies After the Rain
The marriage between the Holmes family and the Flores family was now well-known, and insiders noticed some issues with the Holmes Group.
Everyone was waiting to see if these two families had the marital union successfully.
Was the Flores family really willing to marry into such a family?
Fiorello remained silent, while Gregory frequented nightclubs, which was quite intriguing.
That night.
Jenny had another nightmare; she dreamt of Kimberly coming to seek revenge, covered in blood.
She woke up in fright, too scared to stay in her room, and ran downstairs to the living room, turning on all the lights to feel a bit safer.
"Jenny," Anna suddenly appeared behind her.
Jenny screamed in fright. Seeing it was Anna, she immediately started scolding her, "Are you trying to scare me, Anna? Can't you make some noise when you walk?"
Anna said aggrievedly, "I'm sorry, Jenny. I just wanted to ask if you're hungry. I can cook something for you."
"No need, just go away," Jenny shouted irritably. "You're always right on my heels, and it's incredibly annoying."
"Jenny, did you have a nightmare? In my hometown, there is a effective remedy for nightmares."
Jenny, hearing this, asked, "What remedy?"
"It's water mixed with soil. After drinking it, you walk around the bed three times with your toes pointing towards the bed. Nightmares are often called 'ghost pressing the bed' in my hometown."
Hearing the word "ghost," Jenny got scared. "What nonsense are you talking about? You're the one being pressed by a ghost."
Jenny stormed upstairs and stood in front of the mirror, feeling more and more aggrieved. She called Gregory, and although the call went through at first, it was soon cut off, clearly hung up on.
"Bastard!" Jenny angrily threw her phone away.
Kevin stood at the door, and the phone landed right at his feet.
Seeing Kevin had returned, Jenny stood up and said aggrievedly, "Dad, Gregory hasn't come to see me for months. He doesn't care about me and the baby at all."
"Stop crying. As long as he shows up on the wedding day, that's all that matters. Hold back your tears," Kevin said with a stern face. "If Gregory doesn't show up, I have even more reason to demand an explanation from the Flores family."
Jenny wanted to say more, but Kevin turned and left.
Jenny vented her anger in the room, smashing quite a few things.
Besides the Holmes family looking forward to the wedding, Maggie was also waiting for this day.
For the past two months, Fiorello had been secretly gathering evidence, while Francis had been equally busy.
The night before the wedding, Maggie and Adalia had already gone to bed when they suddenly heard a knock on the door.
Maggie was awakened and curiously went to open the door, surprised to see Fiorello standing there, saying, "Why are you here so late?"
Since Arya went to London, Maggie couldn't leave Adalia alone at home, so their meeting place had become the rental house.
It was already eleven o'clock, and Maggie thought Fiorello wouldn't come.
Fiorello entered the house, changing his shoes as he asked, "Is Adalia asleep?"
"Yes, she went to bed early." Maggie asked, "Are you here so late because of tomorrow's wedding?"
Fiorello's expression turned cold. "We've found the evidence that Jenny killed Grandma. Now we just have to wait for tomorrow. After that, the Holmes family will gradually disappear from Cyberland."
"What evidence?" Maggie was very curious. She also hoped to clear the murder charges so that Adalia wouldn't be ridiculed at school.
"You'll know tomorrow," Fiorello said mysteriously, giving Maggie a kiss and speaking in a clear voice, "Maggie, I'm a bit hungry."
Maggie blushed and glared at him angrily. "What are you thinking about all the time? Can't you think of something else?"
Fiorello said innocently, "Maggie, I haven't had dinner yet. I just came from an emergency meeting. I want to eat your pasta. What are you thinking?"
Maggie fell silent.
Fiorello was definitely doing it on purpose.
