Chapter 546 They Are All Acting

Ashley is impatient. Before Maggie and Arya arrived, she had already planned to start with Ashley.

The group went upstairs together and soon saw Mark, who had suffered a stroke, lying in bed.

Although Mark had a stroke, he was well taken care of. He was clean, his clothes were clean, and he looked healthy. He had not been mistreated at all.

Melissa said, "Since Dad had a stroke, Mom has been taking care of him. Arya, Maggie, you misunderstood my mom. Dad's accident was really unexpected; no one thought it would happen."

Seeing Maggie and Arya, Mark, with his crooked mouth and slanted eyes, was very excited. He kept making muffled sounds as if trying to speak, and his eyes kept blinking.

Ashley angrily scolded, "Mark, you ungrateful person. I've taken care of you for so long, and you haven't said a word. Now that those two bitches are here, you're so excited."

"Mark." Arya felt very sad seeing Mark unable to speak.

Maggie stepped forward, "Dad."

Hearing Maggie call him Dad, Mark became even more excited and tried to reach out to her, but his hand was stiff and not under his brain's control.

"You little brat, don't call him that." Ashley said sharply, "You can see he's sick, and I've been taking good care of him. Who harmed him? If you keep causing trouble at home, I'll call the police."

"Mom, don't say that." Melissa pretended to mediate, "Maggie is also Dad's daughter. Of course, she's worried about him and has the right to visit him."

Melissa then said to Maggie, "Maggie, you and Arya can come to see Dad anytime."

As the saying goes, you don't hit a smiling face. Melissa was so polite that they felt embarrassed to speak harshly to her.

Maggie said, "My mom is just too worried. It's hard to accept that a healthy person has suddenly become like this."

Melissa understandingly said, "I can understand. When Dad got sick, Mom was also very upset. It was me who consoled her, and she gradually let it go."

Maggie asked, "What did the doctor say? Is there any chance of Dad recovering?"

Melissa shook her head, "Dad is very ill. His muscles have started to atrophy. He's old, and his recovery ability is poor. Mom often massages him, hoping to prevent the atrophy."

"You've really worked hard." Maggie imitated Melissa's tone. "Taking care of a sick person requires a lot of patience. By the way, I heard that Timothy recently took over the Jackson Group, and he's doing quite well. It seems he really has a talent for business."

After looking into the Jackson Group's situation, Maggie was somewhat surprised. She hadn't known Timothy for long, but she could tell he was impulsive and not very good at management. For him to achieve such success right after taking over the company and making several important and bold decisions, didn't seem like Timothy's style.

Maggie deduced that someone was helping Timothy behind the scenes.

Hearing Maggie praise Timothy, Ashley proudly said, "Of course, Timothy is amazing. If Mark had handed over the company earlier, it might have been even bigger by now."

Mark, lying in bed, could only listen and couldn't speak. He was also surprised that Timothy had such abilities.

Maggie smiled, "Not only is Timothy amazing, but you also have a beautiful and intelligent Melissa."

Hearing Maggie's words, a strange light flashed in Melissa's eyes, but her face still wore a gentle and harmless smile.

"Compared to Maggie, I'm far behind. I was in poor health and hospitalized for years. If I had known I had a sister, I would have been very happy and asked Dad to bring you back sooner."

Maggie just smiled. She didn't dare to want such a sister.

"I'm not going to beat around the bush. I'm here today to take Dad to Cyberland Hospital for treatment. Maybe he can be cured."

"No way." Ashley immediately refused, "Why should you take him? Is the Jackson family out of people? Mark has a son and a daughter. How can an illegitimate daughter from outside take him away? It would be a joke if word got out."

Melissa also said, "Maggie, I know you miss Dad, but taking him away is not appropriate. We've found the best doctors for Dad and also plan to take him to Cyberland for treatment."

"This matter is not up to you or me. It depends on what Dad wants." Maggie looked at Mark, "Dad, if you agree to go with me, blink your eyes."
