Chapter 457 Hypocritical People

Dulce was fuming, while Maggie just stared out the window, totally zoned out.

Seeing Maggie like this took Dulce back to when she was battling depression a few years ago.

Dulce was freaked out, grabbing Maggie's hand and pleading, "Maggie, don't go down that road again. I'm right here with you. If you need to let it out, just cry, okay? Let it all out."

Isabella chimed in, "Maggie, you're still young. The Flores family brought in top-notch docs and saved your uterus. You can still have kids later on."

Dulce snapped back, "Don't have kids for the Flores family. Look at what they've done. Maggie, I'll back you up. I'll make the Flores give you a proper explanation."

Isabella asked, "You think you can get Maggie to divorce Fiorello over this?"

Dulce didn't mean that, but she couldn't just let it slide either.

Maggie suddenly spoke up, "Fiorello and I are from different worlds. His family's got high standards, and I just don't fit in. No point in forcing it and making everyone miserable, including myself."

Hearing Maggie talk about divorce, Isabella felt a bit of joy.

Dulce was stunned. "Maggie, don't think like that. Fiorello's actually a good guy. This is all Mrs. Kimberly Flores's doing. You can't just give up on a good husband. You should stick it out with Fiorello, have a few more kids, and really piss off Mrs. Kimberly Flores. By the way, is there a charge for harming a five-month-old fetus? Is it considered murder?"

Isabella shook her head, "Nope, an unborn child is legally part of the mother's body, not a separate person, so it's not murder. But Mrs. Kimberly Flores did harm Maggie, which is a crime and can be prosecuted. But Maggie, that's Fiorello's grandma. Do you really want to sue and cut ties with the Flores family?"

Deep down, Isabella hoped Maggie would go for it. Only if Maggie broke ties with the Flores family would her relationship with Fiorello crumble too.

Isabella's words had a hint of instigation.

Dulce looked at Maggie. She didn't want Maggie to cut ties with the Flores family and tried to persuade her, "Maggie, don't act on impulse. What does Fiorello say? It was his son who died. How's he handling it?"

Dulce advised Maggie not to be impulsive, but she herself had been very impulsive just now. She wasn't scared and had no reservations. Breaking ties with the Flores family didn't matter to her, but it did to Maggie.

Maggie took a deep breath and said, "Dulce, Isabella, you both should go back. I need some time alone."

She didn't want to see or talk to anyone; she just wanted some peace.

Dulce got the hint, hugged her, and said, "Alright, we're leaving. If you need anything, let me know. I'll come see you another day."

Isabella added, "Yeah, if you need anything, just say the word."

Maggie nodded. After Isabella and Dulce left, she crawled into bed and curled up.

Fiorello was just outside the door, never having left.

Maggie's muffled sobs from the ward were tearing Fiorello apart, making him feel even more distressed and guilty.

Joseph and Eleanor came to the hospital to see Maggie, but Fiorello sent them away. Maggie didn't want to see anyone, especially the Flores family, as it would only upset her more.

The news of Maggie's miscarriage spread, and many people knew about it, but few knew the real story.

The Flores family certainly wouldn't admit it was Kimberly who caused it.

When Isabella got home, Olivia said with fake sympathy, "Oh, what a pity. I guess Maggie just had bad luck and couldn't handle the Flores family's wealth. By the way, Isabella, you went to the hospital to see Maggie. Do you know how the baby was lost?"

Isabella sat down, speaking indifferently, "It was Mrs. Kimberly Flores who caused it. The baby's gone, and Maggie and Fiorello's relationship is on the rocks. They should be at the end of their rope. Mom, you said she was lucky before, but I don't think so."

"What? Mrs. Kimberly Flores did it?" Olivia was shocked and curious. "What happened?"
