Chapter 763 Revenge, There's Something Wrong with the Wine

Maggie had long since found out Harold's preferences and had everything arranged.

Eight beautiful women, each with a different kind of charm.

Harold's eyes showed satisfaction as he smiled and said, "Ms. Miller, you really know me well, but..."

"But what?" Maggie wondered if there was something she hadn't arranged properly.

Harold placed his hand on the sofa and pushed his glasses up with one hand, saying, "After seeing a stunning beauty like you, how could I be interested in anyone else?"

As he spoke, Harold glanced at William and the women Maggie had brought, signaling for Maggie to send them away.

"Ms. Miller, I'd like to discuss the South Bay project with you alone."

Maggie hesitated, and William spoke up, "Harold, Maggie has only recently taken over the company. I'm more familiar with the South Bay project."

William was worried that Maggie might be taken advantage of and wanted to stay to protect her.

Harold sneered, "What? Has Visionary Futures Group really changed hands, and now an assistant is making decisions?"

The words were harsh, and Maggie could sense Harold's displeasure.

"Harold, stop joking," Maggie said, giving William a look to signal everyone to leave.

William was concerned, "Maggie."

"Everyone out," Maggie waved her hand.

William hesitated for a moment, then led everyone out of the private room, leaving only Harold and Maggie in the large space.

Maggie felt a bit scared; Harold was notorious for being lecherous.

Harold noticed Maggie's fear, poured a glass of wine, and walked over to her, handing it to her, "Ms. Miller, are you afraid of me? How dare you come out to discuss business with me? In the business world, it's a man's game. A beauty like you should be at home enjoying life."

Maggie took the wine and drank it in one gulp to muster up her courage. The wine was a bit bitter, but after drinking it, she felt a bit braver.

Maggie looked up and said firmly, "When Fiorello was around, he supported this family, and I only needed to be the woman behind him. Now that he's gone, I will support this family and this company until he returns."

Harold was particularly impressed and also drank his wine in one gulp, saying, "I've met many women, and I never envied Fiorello before. But at this moment, I envy him for having a good woman like you."

Harold had been with many women, some of whom he couldn't even remember the names of. But those women were only after his money; designer bags and jewelry could make them happy and willing to lie in bed.

Such unchallenging women were too easy to get and quickly lost their appeal.

Maggie said, "Harold, you're too kind. Fiorello cherished me, so I'm willing to give my all for him."

Harold was taken aback, realizing that the entire Visionary Futures Group was now under Maggie's name. He understood why he couldn't compare to Fiorello.

Fiorello dared to entrust everything to Maggie, but Harold didn't.

Because Fiorello treated Maggie well, Maggie loved Fiorello in return.

Harold sat down, poured another glass of wine, and raised his glass, saying, "Maggie, I wonder if I, Harold, could have the honor of pursuing you. A wise wife brings prosperity to her family. If I could marry a good wife like you, the Baker family would surely continue to thrive. I'm serious."

Maggie remained silent.

"Harold, stop joking," Maggie said with a smile. "My heart belongs to Fiorello alone. If you're interested in collaborating on the South Bay project, we can continue our discussion. If not, let's not waste each other's time."

Harold laughed, "Ms. Miller, you really have a temper like Fiorello. Alright, no more jokes. Let's talk about the South Bay project. We're out of wine; I'll have someone bring another bottle."

Harold pressed the service bell, and soon a waitress came in. Harold said, "Bring another bottle of this wine."

"Yes, Harold."

The waitress left, and William and the PR team waited outside.

The waitress walked down the hallway, turned a corner, and headed towards the fire escape, where she respectfully called out to a man standing inside, "Mr. Johnson."

A man stepped out of the shadows; it was Michael.

Michael's face was grim as he handed something to the waitress, "Put this in the wine later."
