Chapter 334 The Anniversary Celebration Dinner Began
Seeing Arya's confused expression, Maggie hesitated before saying, "The doctor said it's hard for me to get pregnant."
"What?" Arya's face went pale. "Why?"
Maggie explained, "I hurt my back in a car accident, and when I had that child, I ended up with complications. So, it's tough to get pregnant again."
Arya immediately looked worried. "Does Fiorello know?"
In her opinion, a marriage without a child definitely wouldn't work; just an adopted child wouldn't make the marriage more solid.
In most marriages, love and novelty faded away, and what’s left to hold the family together were the kids.
Maggie nodded. "He knows. I told him, and he doesn't mind."
Maggie didn't mention Fiorello's infertility. She felt it was a man's dignity, something hard to talk about, even with her own mother.
Arya added, "Right now, he doesn't mind because you two just got married. But as men get older, they will want their own child more and more. The Flores family has a lot of assets, and it's impossible for Fiorello not to have his own child. His parents wouldn't agree either. Look at Isabella."
She was very worried about Maggie's marriage. A marriage without children lacked security and assurance.
Isabella had been married for eight years without children, which was the biggest reason for the marriage breakdown.
What Arya said made Maggie really anxious. Azoospermia could be treated. She wondered if it was cured and Fiorello wanted his own child in the future, what should she do?'
Maggie avoided diving too deep into her thoughts and replied, "Mom, Fiorello won't leave. I trust him, and we have Adalia."
"Well, Adalia isn't biologically yours," Arya sighed, making a mental note to explore options for helping Maggie conceive.
Arya's words weighed on Maggie, but she knew she couldn't prevent what might come. With both her and Fiorello facing infertility, worrying about hypotheticals seemed unnecessary.
The anniversary gala kicked off at 7 PM sharp. Fiorello had lined up a top-notch makeup crew to glam up Maggie. By 6:30, he picked up Maggie, and together they arrived at the swanky hotel hosting the event.
The gala was abuzz with guests—socialites, Visionary Futures bigwigs, the whole shebang. Fiorello chose to showcase Maggie at this high-profile gathering to broadcast his marital status loud and clear.
Before the gala started, Maggie rested in the back lounge while Fiorello entertained guests at the front.
Eleanor took Arya and Adalia to the front hall. Joseph and Holden had arrived early as well, as the hosts, they had to arrive early.
Jones, Angela, and Emily had also arrived.
On such an important day, Maggie also invited Dulce.
Maggie could watch the live broadcast of the gala in the lounge.
Today's anniversary gala was being broadcast live.
Visionary Futures invited many celebrities from the entertainment industry to perform, including top-tier singers.
Maggie felt a bit nervous because, according to the schedule, she needed to appear when Fiorello introduced her to everyone.
It was her first time attending such a large gala event, and she was so nervous that her palms were sweating.
"Maggie."
Dulce found her, pushed open the door, and exclaimed, "Maggie, you look so beautiful today. I almost didn't recognize you. You are the most beautiful person here today. After today, you will be the woman envied by all women in the world."
Maggie smiled and said, "As long as they don't hate me, it's fine. Dulce, I'm nervous."
Dulce said, "Take a deep breath. You used to be the host of the art gala in college. Just think of it as being back in school. Besides, Fiorello is there to control the whole scene. Your main job is to be beautiful."
