Chapter 347 I'm Sorry

Dulce couldn't keep pace with Maggie, falling behind as Maggie hurried away. As she noticed Fiorello catching up, confusion crossed her face.

"Which way did Maggie go?" he asked.

Pointing left, Dulce chimed in, "Hey, what's the deal?"

Dulce had just wrapped up a call with her boyfriend when she returned to find Maggie storming off with a grim expression. Despite her calls, she couldn't deter her.

With no time to spare, Fiorello darted after Maggie without a moment to explain.

Maggie's mind was a whirlwind, replaying Kimberly's harsh words on a loop. The truth hit her hard again; it was Maggie who struggled with infertility, not Fiorello. And Fiorello had spun a tale so Eleanor and Joseph would accept her.

Exiting the hotel, Maggie strode onto the street, wrestling with the reality. While she never doubted Fiorello's affection, it now strained her to face him and his fam.

Though Kimberly's words stung, they held truth. Just a street vendor, she lacked higher ed and kids — feeling undeserving of Fiorello's love.

Shaken to her core, now that the Flores family knew her infertility, her union with Fiorello seemed doomed.

Lost in her thoughts, Maggie missed the red light. A car barreled towards her, freezing her in dread.

As the vehicle closed in, she felt a sudden pull. Still dazed, she heard a panicked voice, "Maggie, you good?"

Looking up, she saw Fiorello, her savior.

The driver, also rattled, shouted, "If you're looking to cash out, not on my watch. Take that drama elsewhere."

Fiorello shot a glare at the driver, who then sped off.

Guiding her to a quiet spot, he checked for injuries, only easing up when he found none.

Drawing her close, Fiorello cautioned, "Can't happen again."

His voice dripping with concern. Had he not intervened, the fallout could have been dire.

"I'm sorry," Maggie whispered, choked with tears and regret. Overwhelmed, she felt responsible for the chaos, for her inability to give Fiorello offspring.

"I don't want to hear that. This is not your fault," Fiorello said, holding her face and kissing away her tears. "Let's go home."

Scooping her up, he whisked her away, offering no time for grief. Within his embrace, Maggie found solace amidst the turmoil.

Silent, Fiorello settled her in the car before reaching out to Arya and Holden, assigning Arya to watch over Adalia and Holden to take them home. Tonight, they ventured to a new place, not the old manor or Cityhomes West.

With everything set, Fiorello revved the engine and drove Maggie to their new abode.

As their car departed, Gregory emerged, gazing after them, murmuring, "Fiorello really loves her, huh?"
