Chapter 253: They Became Anxious
Ashley became more and more angry as she thought about it; her face even twisted a bit.
Mark said, "Alright, as long as we can deceive her to Pearl Peak City, she can make any demands she wants; we can back out afterward anyways."
"I think Maggie is more formidable than Arya, very difficult to deal with." Ashley anxiously said, "If we delay any longer, Melissa's condition will only worsen."
Just as she finished speaking, Ashley's phone rang; it was from the hospital in Pearl Peak City.
"Ms. Jackson, Melissa's condition has worsened; we must find a suitable bone marrow for transplant surgery as soon as possible; otherwise, it may be too late," The doctor asked, "When will the suitable person you mentioned before come to the hospital for matching?"
The doctor's words made Ashley very anxious, "Mr. Morgan, you must save my daughter, wait a few more days, I will quickly bring someone to do the matching for Melissa."
"You must do it as soon as possible," Gerald said, "With Melissa's condition, she probably won't last more than three months."
"Alright, we will do it as soon as possible." Ashley's eyes were red with anxiety.
Mark, listening on the side, was also very anxious and worried.
After hanging up the phone, Ashley looked fiercely in the direction Maggie had just left and said to Mark, "I'll give you three days; if you can't handle it, then I'll take people to kidnap her to Pearl Peak City, and Maggie must donate bone marrow for my daughter."
"I'll do it as soon as possible." Mark was also anxious; no matter what he said, Maggie wouldn't agree, and it was difficult.
"You must; if you can't, I'll use my methods." Ashley gritted her teeth, her eyes showing a fierce light. "If she dares not to save my daughter, don't blame me for harming her."
After speaking, Ashley got into the car. In her opinion, she was already giving Maggie face by coming to find her in person.
Maggie's demands were getting out of hand.
Maggie returned home and did not tell Arya about Mark's affairs.
She casually went to the kitchen to cook, while Arya and Eleanor were chatting in the living room, Adalia was playing with her toys, everything was harmonious.
Soon, Maggie finished cooking and asked everyone to eat together.
Eleanor praised. "Maggie, your cooking skills are really good; Fiorello is so lucky."
Arya laughed. "We are lucky that Maggie married Fiorello; Fiorello is capable, ambitious, considerate, and responsible."
Both sides started to praise Maggie.
Maggie took care of Adalia while eating, saying, "Arya, Eleanor, don't just talk; the food will get cold."
Eleanor smiled. "Yes, let's eat, Maggie; you should eat more, too."
Before, Eleanor used to urge the two to have children, but since learning about Fiorello's infertility, she stopped urging them.
After the meal, Eleanor stayed for a while and then left after receiving a phone call. She had made plans to go shopping with her friends.
That was Eleanor's only hobby.
After the meal, Arya wanted to take a nap, so she went back to her room to lie down, and Maggie took Adalia to nap as well.
Just as Maggie was about to fall asleep, she heard Arya's phone ring.
Shortly after, she faintly heard Arya speaking in a lowered voice on the phone. Out of curiosity, Maggie walked to the door to eavesdrop.
Sure enough, as she expected from listening to the conversation, it was Mark calling to persuade Arya to go to Pearl Peak City.
And Arya seemed to be compromising a bit.
She faintly heard Arya say, "Let me discuss with Maggie and see what she thinks."
Maggie returned to the bedroom and did not interrupt Arya's phone call.
With her there, she wouldn't let Mark deceive her mother again.
Mark has a family; he's not capable of benefiting his mother at all. He even wants his mom to be his lover.
At this point, Maggie would never agree to Arya's approval.
When she woke up from her nap, it was already past four in the afternoon. Arya seemed hesitant to speak several times, but Maggie knew what her mother wanted to say, so she refused to engage in the conversation.
"Mom, I'm taking Adalia downstairs to the apartment to play for a while." Maggie decided it was best to take Adalia away for a bit.
Before she could leave, Maggie received a call from the police station.
