Chapter 201 Generational Perspectives

Maggie took a taxi to Cyberland Penitentiary, feeling quite nervous along the way. She wanted to know the truth but was also fearful, feeling a sense of hesitation.
Vaguely, Maggie realized that the truth might impact her current life.
However, Maggie was unwilling to live in confusion. After some inner turmoil, she still entered the prison.
Maggie requested to visit Sam but was denied.
The reason given by the prison was that Sam had caused trouble inside recently and couldn't be visited for a year.
The tiny flame in Maggie's heart was extinguished as if by a bucket of cold water.
Feeling lost, Maggie walked out of the prison aimlessly.
At that moment, Maggie's phone rang. It was Ann from the AL Jewelry Sales Department.
Ann had called to inquire about Maggie's health when she was hospitalized.
Seeing the caller ID, Maggie answered and quickly adjusted her mood. "Ann."
Concerned, Ann asked over the phone, "Maggie, are you feeling better now?"
"I'm fine. I've been discharged today." Thinking of Ann's child, Maggie said, "Ann, are you available? I want to come over and see my godson."
"Of course, you're welcome. I'm very happy. I'll send you the address." Ann's tone was joyful.
"Great."
Maggie smiled, hung up the phone, and received Ann's address.
Maggie went to a nearby mall to buy gifts for the child and Ann before taking a taxi over.
Ann's husband was well-off, living in a high-end area in Cyberland, with a large flat spanning over two hundred square feet.
Carrying the gifts, Maggie rang the doorbell. Shortly after, the door opened, revealing Ben's mother.
Ben's mother wasn't very enthusiastic about Maggie's visits, with an unpleasant expression, shouted towards the room, "Ann, your friend is here."
Ben's mother didn't accept Maggie's gifts. Instead, Ann warmly took them.
"Maggie, come in. You look good. Fully recovered?"
"I'm all good." Maggie smiled and casually glanced at the spacious flat with a great view and a large floor-to-ceiling window. "Ann, where's the child?"
"Asleep in the bedroom." Ann pulled Maggie along, saying, "Come on. Let's sit in my bedroom."
As they entered the bedroom, Ben's mother followed. "Ann, you chat with your friend. I'll take the child out for a walk."
"No need." Ann's tone was cold, not showing Ben's mother any respect, and she closed the bedroom door directly.
Outside the door, Ben's mother immediately became angry.
As an outsider, Maggie could see that the relationship between Ben's mother and Ann was not good.
Maggie didn't say anything, walked to the baby's crib, and saw the child sleeping. The baby was adorable, only three months old.
"So cute," Maggie couldn't help but praise.
Looking at the child, Ann's eyes were full of maternal love. "Yes, this child changes every day, but he's a bit of a torment to me. He cries at night all the time, very distressing. Look at how much hair I've lost."
While complaining, Ann's gaze towards the child was very tender.
Maggie sighed, "Motherhood is really not easy."
Ann said, "Indeed, when I was pregnant, my body felt heavy, I couldn't sleep well, and I was looking forward to giving birth. Now that I have, I sometimes wish I could put the child back in my belly. Due to taking care of the baby, I haven't even returned to work yet. Ben's mother insists on breastfeeding."
Unable to resist Ben's mother and also out of love for her child, Ann decided to breastfeed.
Maggie comforted. "When the child is a bit older and weans off breastfeeding, it will be better. Look at how adorable he is."
Ann smiled, but suddenly, the baby woke up and started crying.
As soon as the baby cried, Ben's mother's voice came. "Ann, did the child pee or poop? You young people don't know how to take care of a child. I'm willing to help, but you're not willing."
Ben's mother's nagging made Ann's expression turn sour.
