Chapter 742 Hearing News About Him
Fiorello entered the barbecue restaurant and found a seat.
The waiter immediately approached enthusiastically and asked, "How many people? What kind of flavor would you like?"
Fiorello really didn't know what he wanted to eat and asked, "Is it very spicy?"
"We have mild and medium spice," the waiter said with a smile. "Judging by your accent, you must be from Cyberland. People there like spicy food. How about trying a dish?"
Cyberland?
This made Fiorello nervous; it was the first time someone had said he was from Cyberland.
His driving license said he was from a county under Lunaris, and Melissa also said he was from Lunaris.
Desmond followed in and heard the waiter's words, feeling quite anxious. He quickly said, "Let's just have a barbecue."
The waiter said, "Alright, please wait a moment. You can scan the QR code on the table to order."
"Okay," Desmond said with a smile. "Waiter, you can go ahead and get busy; we'll order ourselves."
The waiter said, "If you need anything, just call me."
After the waiter left, Fiorello asked, "Have I been to Cyberland?"
"You have," Desmond couldn't hide it and casually lied, "You went there for a trip before. You even asked me to go, but I was busy. You're a smart kid, quick to learn anything, but you don't put in the effort. Otherwise, you would have definitely gotten into Liberty Beacon College."
Fiorello asked, "Then how did I become Melissa's boyfriend?"
He was curious about how Melissa, a noblewoman, took a liking to him, the son of a butler.
"I don't know," Desmond said. "Ryan, you're lucky that Melissa likes you. You should treat her well. I'm getting old and just want to see you settle down. If you and Melissa get married soon, I would have no regrets."
Fiorello said coldly, "She's a noblewoman; we're not from the same social class."
"Ryan, what do you mean by that?" Desmond asked nervously. "Are you planning to break up with Miss Melissa? Where would you find such a good girlfriend?"
Fiorello said no more and used his phone to place the order.
Melissa received Desmond's report and was also worried, but she couldn't directly call Fiorello back.
It seemed she had to use marriage and her body to entice Fiorello.
San Diego.
Maggie woke up from a hangover, her head splitting.
She often drank herself into a stupor and didn't get up until noon the next day.
Maggie was now staying in the hotel room where Fiorello had previously stayed. The room still had Fiorello's clothes, and she hugged them to sleep every night.
Smelling his scent on the clothes made her feel a bit more at ease.
Dulce had stayed with Maggie all night and fell asleep on the sofa. When she woke up, she saw Maggie sitting on the bed, staring blankly while holding Fiorello's clothes.
"Maggie," Dulce said, feeling heartbroken seeing Maggie like this. "Come back to Cyberland with me today. Auntie texted me this morning saying Katie is sick. You've been here for so long; you can't stay here forever."
Dulce could only use the child as an excuse to trick Maggie into going back. Otherwise, Maggie would continue to be depressed and become a walking corpse. If she kept drinking like this, she would ruin herself sooner or later.
Hearing that the child was sick, Maggie became anxious. Yes, she had been here for over a month and hadn't gone back to see the babies.
The children and her mother were in Cyberland; she had to go back.
Maggie tightly clutched Fiorello's belongings without saying a word. Dulce understood and said, "I'll help you pack and check out the room."
Maggie didn't speak, which was a tacit agreement.
Dulce packed up the room and, as they were leaving, Maggie and Dulce ran into the cleaning lady in the hallway—the same one who had seen Melissa and Fiorello before.
Dulce said, "Ma'am, we're checking out of this room. Please clean it."
The cleaning lady glanced at the room number, remembered seeing Fiorello leave with Melissa, and thought to herself how immoral it was to have so many women.
Dulce and Maggie walked towards the elevator with their luggage.
The cleaning lady called a colleague to help clean the room.
As they cleaned, they chatted. The cleaning lady said, "This room hasn't been checked out yet. I saw the gentleman in this room last time and thought he had already checked out."
Since that day, the cleaning lady hadn't seen Fiorello, which made her curious.
Her colleague said, "This room hasn't been checked out. It's been booked for over a month."
The cleaning lady said, "Last time I saw that gentleman leave with a beautiful woman. I thought he wasn't staying here anymore."
Maggie, who had returned to retrieve something, stopped in her tracks when she heard the cleaning lady's words.
