Dulce stopped in her tracks and greeted with a smile, "Francis, what a coincidence."
Francis walked over and said, "I came here specifically to find you."
The implication was that he wasn't just passing by.
Dulce feigned ignorance and asked, "What do you need me for? Is there a case that needs my help?"
Francis hesitated and said, "The peach blossoms are blooming. Do you have time to go see them this weekend?"
Dulce was stunned. Was this an invitation for a date?
Dulce awkwardly smiled and said, "Francis, I'm not free that day."
Before she could finish, Francis said, "You have the day off. I checked. The beauty salon doesn't need you to be there every day, and you don't have any appointments."
Dulce fell silent.
"Francis, I don't think it's appropriate. Have you resolved things with Wendy?"
"That night was an accident. As a man, I know I should take responsibility, but I'm very clear that the person I like is you." Francis had thought about these words for a long time. For someone with a strong sense of responsibility, making such a decision was really difficult.
He knew what he would face at work if he abandoned Wendy.
It would be impossible for him to get promoted any further. The Holmes family might cause trouble at the office, and he could even be suspended, earning a reputation for being ungrateful.
But none of this could stop his desire to be with Dulce.
Francis said, "Dulce, you know my past. If you're still willing to accept me, meet me at the pavilion on Peach Blossom Mountain this weekend. I'll be waiting for you there."
This time, Francis had made a big decision. Even if it meant being labeled as ungrateful or being suspended, he wanted to try one more time.
He didn't want to live with regrets.

Wendy was also anxious. Her credit card was overdue, and she had taken out loans from other apps to cover the credit card debt. The debt collectors called her every day, threatening her to repay the money.
"Francis, you're back. Today is Brianna's birthday. I came to invite you to the Flores Manor for dinner," Wendy said with a smile. "This morning, Brianna told me to make sure to bring you. It's her birthday wish."
Francis said expressionlessly, "I'll go to dinner tonight. But, Wendy, I need to tell you something. I've decided to resign."
Wendy was shocked and said, "Francis, why are you resigning? Aren't you up for a promotion in the second half of the year? You have a bright future. Many people want your position. How can you resign?"
