Chapter 704 Tipping Off

"You really lack generosity, Maggie. Don't blame me for being harsh earlier; I was trying to teach you. No matter how upset you are, sometimes you can't just act on impulse."

Eleanor earnestly said, "Take this time for example. As soon as Melissa moved out, rumors started spreading. In a family like ours, people are always watching. Sometimes you have to handle things differently. I just brought Melissa some things, and now she's willing to come back with me."

Maggie smiled, understanding Eleanor's intention. "Mom, you're amazing."

Eleanor said proudly, "This is the experience I've gained from being Mrs. Flores for so many years. You need to learn to wear a mask and not be too direct in your actions. I'll teach you as we go along."

Eleanor genuinely felt sorry for Melissa and liked her quite a bit. The reason she sent Melissa away was mainly because of the recent hot news event.

With Maggie's temperament, she definitely wouldn't be able to befriend Melissa deliberately, so Eleanor had to step in.

This family would be Maggie's to lead in the future, and her status and image had to be maintained.

Eleanor was doing this for Fiorello, teaching Maggie.

Maggie asked, "Mom, how many days will you be gone?"

"I'll go check things out. If it's suitable, I'll find a reason to come back. What would I do staying there all the time? I miss my grandchildren."

Maggie laughed, "Thanks, Mom."

"I'll pack my things and leave tomorrow morning. If anything comes up, talk to the nanny," Eleanor instructed. "Remember to disinfect before holding the baby. Don't be careless."

Maggie couldn't help but laugh and cry. Sometimes Eleanor made her feel helpless, but other times she thought she was great. Indeed, no one is perfect, and she wasn't a perfect daughter-in-law either.

"Okay, Mom, I got it."

To make Eleanor happy, Maggie agreed.

Eleanor really left early the next morning.

She packed a suitcase, clearly not planning to stay long.

Eleanor was thinking about Katie and Nate, so she definitely wouldn't stay there for long.

Melissa returned, and Mark felt a bit relieved.

However, as soon as Melissa came back, Ashley noticed that Mark didn't return with her. She called Mark and gave him an earful, giving him two choices: either he comes back, or she goes to Cyberland.

Ashley had previously agreed to let Mark go to Cyberland because it was for the newborn party, attended by prominent figures. Melissa also wanted to go and had persuaded Ashley for a long time before she agreed to let Mark go.

But Ashley absolutely wouldn't allow Mark to stay there alone.

Previously, when Mark was paralyzed and couldn't do anything from the waist down, she wasn't worried about anything happening with Arya. But now it was different.

Mark and Ashley weren't divorced yet, and Ashley refused to divorce unless she was dead. Even if she couldn't win Mark's heart, she wouldn't divorce him.

She wouldn't let Mark and Arya be together.

In fact, Arya really wanted to tell Ashley that she was overthinking. She never intended to rekindle anything with Mark. If it weren't for Maggie, she would have cut ties with Mark completely and wouldn't have bothered with him.

Not long after, Mark also returned.

With Eleanor gone, Adalia felt no psychological pressure and was happy to hold her younger siblings.
