Chapter 357 First Signs
Dulce had spent a lot on Oliver and even thought about marrying him.
Oliver, though younger, was a smooth talker and never argued, making her feel at ease.
Now that she knew it was all an act, Dulce felt disgusted.
Maggie asked, "Want me to take you home?"
She was worried about Dulce being alone after the breakup.
Dulce sighed and looked at Maggie, and cooed, "Maggie, take me out for drinks tonight."
Maggie laughed. "Alright, my treat."
She turned to Brian, who had just walked out. "You can head back. Thanks for today. I'll take Dulce out to relax."
Brian, one of Fiorello's men, nodded. "Okay, Maggie, call if you need anything."
As Brian drove off, Dulce said, "That guy's really quiet. How does your husband use him?"
"Fiorello says Brian's very capable. When I was kidnapped by Farrell, Brian found me," Maggie said, linking arms with Dulce. "Let's go, drinks are on me."
Dulce needed a drink to lift her spirits.
They found a quiet bar to chat and drink.
After a few drinks, Dulce started venting about Oliver.
Maggie listened and joined in the cursing.
A good friend should be there to share the bad times and vent together.
"Maggie, the more handsome a guy is, the less reliable. Keep an eye on Fiorello; there's too much temptation around him," Dulce warned. "Men can't always control themselves."
Maggie chuckled. "You've lost faith in men, but don't say that about Fiorello. I trust him."
"Yeah, you two are good now. But if Fiorello ever changes, I won't believe in love anymore," Dulce said, sipping her drink.
Maggie shook her head. "Dulce, your belief in love shouldn't depend on others. You have to believe in it yourself."
Dulce, disillusioned, said, "Love is fake. All my feelings were wasted; I might as well just drink."
Maggie didn't argue, raising her glass. "Drink up. As long as you're happy."
"Don't drink soda, have some alcohol too." Dulce poured whiskey for Maggie. "Drink this."
Maggie quickly said, "I can't. I don't hold my liquor well. If we both get drunk, it'll be a problem."
"Just one glass. I broke up today; won't you drink one with me?"
Maggie laughed. "This isn't your first breakup. Let me count. This is the sixth time."
"Only twice were serious. The others don't count. Just drink one glass."
Under Dulce's insistence, Maggie finally drank a glass.
Soon after, she felt a bit dizzy and her lower abdomen hurt a little, but it was bearable.
Meanwhile, at Visionary Futures, Mark, using Maggie's name, sought Fiorello's investment in his winery.
Fiorello was unsure whether to meet him and decided to let William handle it.
As soon as William left, Kimberly called, asking Fiorello to join her for coffee.
Kimberly was already at the coffee shop downstairs.
Fiorello remembered upsetting Kimberly last night. Now that she called, he decided to join her.
At the coffee shop, he saw Jenny was also there, chatting and laughing, wondering why Jenny was so favored by Kimberly.
"Fiorello, over here," Kimberly called with a kind smile.
Fiorello walked over, and Jenny blushed when she saw him.
Kimberly pointed to the seat next to Jenny. "Fiorello, sit here."
Fiorello sat beside Kimberly instead.
"Grandma, I heard from Holden you were playing cards. Why are you here now?" Fiorello didn't look at Jenny, acting as if she didn't exist.
