Chapter210 Meeting the Director of The Angel Adoption Agency
Maggie received a call from the hospital and rushed there with Fiorello.
Only then did she learn that Arya had been hit by a motorcycle while crossing the street to buy groceries in the morning, resulting in a fractured leg bone.
Looking at Arya's leg in a cast, Maggie couldn't help but feel heartbroken. "Mom, how did this happen?"
Arya succinctly explained, "The delivery guy, Tyler, was in a hurry. I didn't see the red light either; I thought it was green, and that's how the accident happened. Maggie, it's okay; just rest for a few days."
With the incident unfolding, Maggie didn't say anything more.
Tyler, who had hit Arya, was also responsible and voluntarily covered all medical expenses.
However, Arya also had some responsibility in the matter. Tyler came to discuss splitting the medical expenses with Maggie.
Earning a living away from home is not easy, and Tyler also has to cover his family's expenses.
Before Maggie could say anything, Arya said, "Tyler, you can leave. You don't need to pay the remaining medical expenses. I'll take care of it myself. I'm truly sorry for today."
Tyler breathed a sigh of relief. "Ms. Stark, I'll take off now. Take care of yourself and recover well."
Tyler was afraid Arya might change her mind and left quickly.
In Maggie's memory, Arya was always very careful when crossing the street, making sure it was safe before proceeding. This time, she didn't even see the traffic lights clearly, which must be because of Mark.
Mark's presence had indeed unsettled Arya, leaving her distracted these past few days.
At that moment, the doctor approached. "Family members of the patient, Arya, need to be hospitalized for observation. Please go and complete the admission procedures."
Fiorello said, "Alright, Maggie, stay here with your mom."
"Okay," Maggie replied. After Fiorello and the doctor left, Maggie asked, "Mom, is your accident related to Mark?"
"No," Arya replied hesitantly, "I just didn't see clearly."
"Alright, I won't ask further. I'll go back later to bring you some clothes and toiletries. Just focus on recovering in the hospital," Maggie said, looking at Arya's injured leg and minor facial abrasions with concern, "Don't worry about anything else."
Fiorello returned after completing the admission procedures and stayed with Arya at the hospital temporarily while Maggie went back to pack clothes.
Since Arya had difficulty moving around and Fiorello didn't know what Arya needed or where her clothes were kept, it was best for Maggie to go back and handle the clothing arrangements.
Taking a taxi back to the rental house to pack clothes, Maggie stepped out of the elevator and saw a middle-aged woman knocking on Arya's door.
Puzzled, Maggie approached. "Hello, who are you looking for?"
The woman, upon seeing Maggie, said, "I'm looking for the residents of this house. Where have they gone?"
Maggie asked, "Who are you?"
"I'm Michelle Garcia, the former director of The Angel Adoption Agency. Arya invited me over today, but no one answered the door." the woman explained.
Confirming that she was looking for Arya, Maggie said, "My mom is currently in the hospital. Auntie, if you have any business with my mom, tell me. I'm Arya's daughter, Maggie."
As she spoke, Maggie opened the door, "Ms. Garcia, please come in."
"Okay," Michelle entered the house and instinctively glanced around, saying, "I spoke with Arya on the phone before. She asked me to help find a child. I came over today to discuss this matter."
Recalling Arya mentioning Olivia asking for help in adopting a child from an adoption agency, Maggie assumed this was the issue at hand. "Michelle, my mom is currently hospitalized, so the adoption matter may need to be postponed."
"Adopting a child?" Michelle was surprised. "Arya didn't mention adopting a child. She just asked me to find a child. I checked the records from four years ago at the adoption agency, but there's no one Arya is looking for."
Upon hearing this, Maggie's heart skipped a beat. Wasn't her mother planning to adopt?
Then why specifically search for a child from four years ago?
