Chapter 395 Blood Ties
'Emily's here, so Adalia must be close,' Fiorello thought, tracking them down.
He didn't buy Emily's story.
Fiorello spotted an abandoned building and told Maggie, "Take Emily to the car and wait. I'll check it out."
Emily, scared her lie would be exposed if Adalia was found, pretended to faint.
"Emily!" Maggie caught her, worried.
Just then, Brian rushed over. Fiorello ordered coldly, "Brian, take them to the hospital."
Fiorello then sprinted towards the building.
Maggie, worried about Adalia but unable to leave Emily, took her to the hospital, trusting Fiorello to find Adalia.
Inside the abandoned building, Adalia lay still. Susan, her anger turning to fear, shook her. "Wake up, Adalia. You can't die now."
Susan wasn't scared of Adalia dying, just the timing. There was still an hour until noon. If she died now, Tommy wouldn't return.
Susan shook Adalia frantically. Alan cursed, "This is your fault. You acted too soon and too harshly. Adalia, wake up."
Seeing Adalia's bloody face, Alan remembered she'd called him dad for two years. She trusted him, came to comfort him about Tommy, and he hurt her.
He felt he deserved to die.
Alan checked her breath. "She's still breathing. We need to get her to the hospital."
Susan, crazed, said, "No, she's still breathing, which is perfect. When noon comes, we can kill her. She can't escape now."
As they argued, Fiorello arrived. Seeing Adalia on the ground, rage filled him. "Adalia!"
Fiorello burst in, shoving Susan aside with such force she stumbled. His eyes locked onto Adalia’s bloodied face, and he trembled with fury. "Did you hurt my daughter?" he roared, the menace in his voice making everyone recoil.
Alan's face changed. Susan tried to lie, "She fell on her own."
Fiorello punched her before she could finish. He was so furious he broke his rule of not hitting women.
One punch wasn't enough; he kicked Susan hard in the stomach.
Alan, shocked, didn't react.
Fiorello then grabbed Alan by the collar and beat him too.
Fiorello hadn't been this angry in a long time. Adalia was just a child, yet she was so badly hurt.
After beating them until they were incapacitated, Fiorello called for backup and took Adalia to the hospital.
On the way, Fiorello was terrified. He hadn't felt this kind of fear since Maggie's car accident.
He was scared something would happen to Adalia.
In his heart, he already saw Adalia as his daughter.
At the hospital, Adalia was rushed into the emergency room. Emily, after a check-up, was fine. The doctor said she fainted from fright.
Maggie and Fiorello waited outside the emergency room. Maggie, learning Fiorello found Adalia in the abandoned building, felt disheartened.
Emily had run from that direction. She knew Adalia was with Alan and Susan but lied, saying she hadn't seen her.
Emily, not even five years old, had tried to get Adalia killed.
