Chapter 275 More Like a Family

Maggie's words were enough.

Anyone else might have started an argument upon arriving at the hotel that night. The incriminating photos were real and unedited, after all.

Whether they caught the person or not didn't matter; the ambiguous photos were definite, and they weren't photoshopped.

Fiorello stood at attention. "Whatever Maggie says, I will follow through, no exceptions."

Maggie laughed. "Then I'll go freshen up, pack our things, and we can head back to Cyberland after lunch. I have to go back to work tomorrow."

"Alright, honey, you go ahead and freshen up."

While Maggie was in the bathroom, Fiorello told William to head back first.

Jenny had been causing trouble, and Fiorello thought it was time to arrange a meeting with the executive director of the Holmes Group to discuss it properly.

After Maggie finished freshening up, they both changed clothes and left the room.

Maggie took one last look at the hotel and casually said, "Your company really treats you well on business trips, even giving you a presidential suite."

She had noticed the night they arrived that this was the hotel’s best room, with high-end amenities and a great view.

Fiorello said, "Originally, I was supposed to travel with the president of the Visionary Futures Group. This hotel room was booked for him by the company, but he couldn't make it at the last minute, so I got to stay here."

"I see." Maggie smiled. "You’re lucky. Do you have a good relationship with your boss? He lent you his car and now this hotel room."

"Pretty good," Fiorello smiled and said, "The boss is very considerate of his employees. This kind of expense is nothing to him."

Maggie gossiped, "Have you ever met the wife of the Visionary Futures Group's boss?"

"Yes," Fiorello praised. "I saw her from a distance once. She's very beautiful and elegant."

Maggie gave him a long look, surprised that he would praise another woman in front of her.

Fiorello put his arm around Maggie's shoulder and quickly added with a smile, "But she's not as beautiful as my wife. My wife is even better."

Maggie gave him a side-eye but let it slide, smiling at his compliment.

After lunch, they headed back to Cyberland together.

This time, they took a car and arrived in Cyberland in an hour and a half.

As soon as Maggie walked in the door, Adalia heard the noise and ran over. "Mommy, Daddy, you're back! Grandma, Mommy, and Daddy are back!"

Adalia was so happy she jumped up and down.

Fiorello walked in and picked Adalia up. "Sweetheart, did you miss Daddy?"

Fiorello truly treated Adalia as his own daughter, and all his actions were heartfelt.

Seeing Adalia so happy made him happy, too.

Adalia cheerfully said, "I missed Daddy."

Maggie laughed and asked, "What about me? Did you miss me?"

"I missed you too, Mommy. I missed both of you," Adalia said sweetly,

Maggie laughed and glanced at Fiorello. "This kid is as sweet-talking as you, always diplomatic and never offending anyone."

Fiorello laughed, and Maggie handed the stuffed toy they brought back to Adalia. "This is a gift from Mommy and Daddy. Do you like it?"

"I love it! It's so cute," Adalia said, hugging the stuffed toy and pressing it against her cheek.

Arya came out of her room and saw the three of them so happy together. They really looked like a family. She smiled and said, "You're back."

"Mom, how's your leg?" Maggie walked over and said, "You need to rest more."

Arya said, "It's much better. It will be fully recovered in a week. It's already afternoon; I should go buy groceries and make dinner."

"I'll go buy them," Fiorello said, "I'll go in a bit."

Fiorello was already familiar with the nearby stores, and Adalia wanted to go too, so they went together.

Adalia eagerly put on her shoes to go with him. Arya watched them leave, then smiled at Maggie. "Fiorello is very patient with Adalia. She really likes him. She kept asking when you’d be back. Adalia is starting to feel like our own family."

Maggie could also see how attached Adalia was to Fiorello. "With Adalia here, this home feels more complete."

"Yes," Arya sighed. "A family needs a child as a bridge to strengthen the relationship between husband and wife. Children also need a father to guide them and help them be more confident. Nowadays, parenting experts all say that the presence of both parents is the best teacher for a child."

Maggie felt something strange about Arya's words and asked, "Mom, what are you trying to say? Did Mark contact you again?"
