Chapter 310 Hurting Mark

The hotel.

Maggie brought Arya back to the hotel room. Arya said nothing, feeling too ashamed to face her daughter.

"Mom, you didn't eat much at Luxe Culinary Haven earlier. I've ordered some food for you; it will be here soon. Eat a little before you sleep," Maggie said. "Why don't you wash your face in the meantime?"

Arya's leg had healed, and she no longer needed a crutch, which was a comfort to Maggie.

Arya stammered, "Maggie, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have conspired with your father to deceive you. I'm not actually sick."

"I know," Maggie replied calmly. "Mom, after you eat, just get a good night's sleep. Don't think about anything else. Whenever you want to go back to Cyberland, we'll go."

Maggie was no longer in a hurry; helping Arya resolve this emotional burden was more important than anything else.

Arya's confession deepened her shame. Clenching her fists, she admitted, "It's all my fault. I was deceived by your father again. They really are too much. I thought he had truly changed and wanted to reconcile with you. I didn't know they still wanted to use you."

"Mom, don't blame yourself. You didn't see through him twenty years ago, and now he's become even more cunning. It's normal to be deceived," Maggie said, taking it in stride.

Arya said, "Maggie, I can't accept this." This time, Arya truly couldn't accept it; no one could endure being deceived repeatedly.

Women were fickle; one moment, they could be deeply in love, and the next, they could turn against you.

Maggie was quite surprised this time. "Mom, tell me, what do you want to do?"

She had thought Arya would be despondent, deeply affected, and in a bad mood, but it seemed Arya had rekindled her fighting spirit.

Arya hesitated and asked, "Maggie, do you have confidence in taking a third of the Jackson family's assets?"

Maggie raised an eyebrow and said, "Mom, are you serious? I was just saying that to make them back off."

Arya said firmly, "I'm serious. Your father and Ashley look down on others because they have money and power. The Jackson family looked down on me back then. Now, I want them to repay what they owe me. They brought this upon themselves."

Maggie considered Arya's decision, scratching her head.

A mother in love and a mother focused on her career both exhausted their daughters.

Seeing Maggie remain silent, Arya pressed on, "Maggie, you are Mark's daughter, so you have inheritance rights. We should be able to win in court."

Arya looked at Maggie with such anticipation that Maggie couldn't resist.

"I'll consult a lawyer first," Maggie said, "Mom, I will get you justice."

With Maggie's assurance, Aray felt somewhat relieved.

After the food arrived, Arya had a good appetite and ate everything. She was in high spirits.

Maggie was a bit taken aback. When she returned to her room, Fiorello called, and Maggie told him about the situation.

"I'm telling you, my mom is fired up now. Soon, you'll see an old lover and her daughter take on a bad man."

Fiorello laughed. "That sounds exciting. How can I help?"

"Mark is quite cunning and stingy. Asking him to give up a third of his assets is like asking for his life. It's very difficult," Maggie said, "Do you have any ideas?"

"I don't have any ideas at the moment," Fiorello said after a moment of contemplation, "But I have the ability to shrink the Jackson family's assets by a third."

Maggie laughed. "Wouldn't that be hurting Mark?"

Maggie was just talking; such a method was not feasible. Business competition would complicate things and wouldn't make Mark truly regret his actions.
