Chapter 686 A Beautiful Wife is a Man's Pride

Celine calmed Adalia down before going to open the door for Arya.

Arya asked, "Ms. Hughes, is Adalia okay now?"

"It's very quiet now," Celine said. "Arya, Adalia is just a child, a special one, and she needs special attention."

Arya understood but felt helpless. She said, "Thank you, Ms. Hughes. I'll go in and check on Adalia."

Celine didn't say more. "Alright."

Arya went in, and Adalia was sitting there in a daze. Arya felt a pang of sadness seeing Adalia's dejected back. She walked over, sat down next to Adalia, and said, "Adalia, I know you feel wronged. My poor Adalia, let me give you a hug."

Adalia obediently leaned into Arya's arms and gestured, "I like Grandma, but I don't like Nana anymore."

How wronged must this child feel to say something like that?

Arya lovingly patted Adalia's little head and said, "Adalia, she's just worried about your little brother and sister. They're still young. You can't say things like that in the future, okay? When Nana is around, try to stay away from your brother and sister, and you won't get scolded."

Arya didn't have a better idea and could only keep Adalia away.

Adalia sulked unhappily.

Arya smiled and comforted Adalia for a while longer. When it was time for Celine to start Adalia's lesson, she left.

With Adalia's mood stabilized and Nate and Katie no longer crying, the two nannies took over, and Eleanor finally had time to come out and look for Adalia.

Arya worried that Eleanor might upset Adalia again and said with a smile, "Eleanor, Adalia is still young and doesn't understand. Don't take it to heart."

"Adalia is indeed becoming more and more disobedient. She wasn't like this before," Eleanor said angrily. "I've told her so many times that her little brother and sister are still young and can't be held. She sneaked in when we weren't around. What if something happened?"

"Yes, I've scolded Adalia. She won't do it again," Arya said with a forced smile. "Eleanor, I made some coffee. Let's go downstairs and have some to calm down."

Arya didn't mention any of this to Maggie, so Maggie didn't know.

Since being scolded by Eleanor, Adalia stayed far away from her little brother and sister.

The next day.

Thinking about going home, Maggie got up early, washed up, changed into new clothes, and tied her hair up, looking very young. You couldn't tell she had just given birth.

Maggie had been doing rehabilitation exercises, and now her figure had returned to its pre-pregnancy state. Her skin was even better than before, and she radiated a charming allure.

Fiorello sat on the couch watching her. Wherever Maggie went, his eyes followed.

Maggie looked at him helplessly. "Fiorello, is it necessary? You see me every day and never get tired of it."

"Never tired, never enough," Fiorello said with a bright smile. "If you walk out with me dressed like this, people will think you're my daughter—young and beautiful."

Maggie laughed. "Then people will think I'm with you for your money. Otherwise, why would someone as young and beautiful as me be with you?"

"A beautiful wife is a man's pride. When you stand next to me, my value doubles."

"You're saying such sweet things today. Come, let me see," Maggie teased Fiorello, leaning in to take a closer look.

Suddenly, Fiorello got up and leaned in, his lips softening as he kissed her gently, then pulled away.

Fiorello smiled and said, "You can't see it; you have to taste it to know."

Maggie was delighted by his flirtation. She laughed and pinched Fiorello's cheek. "Your skin is getting thicker now, huh?"

The only one who dared to pinch Fiorello's cheek was definitely Maggie.

Fiorello took the opportunity to wrap his arms around Maggie's hips, pulling her onto his lap. "I've gained weight eating with you lately. My face has gotten rounder."

Maggie chuckled. "Yes, your face is both big and thick."

"A man's weight gain is a sign of happiness," Fiorello said, his hands on Maggie's waist, looking satisfied. "The flesh on your waist is just right, feels good."

Maggie used to be thin, but now she was slim and well-proportioned, with curves in all the right places.

Fiorello was talking about Maggie's waist, but his eyes were looking elsewhere.

Maggie covered her chest with both hands. "Be serious. Pack up; we're going home. I'm eager to see the kids."
