Chapter 472 Insincere Sisters
Fiorello had already made up his mind on how to clear Maggie's name.
Everyone knew Maggie was in her right mind and had control when she hurt Kimberly.
Holden looked at Fiorello and said, "Fiorello, you're planning to get Maggie out, aren't you?"
Fiorello furrowed his brow. "I was just standing here, thinking. Maggie lost her kid, fell into despair, and lost control of her emotions, which is understandable. But did she really kill Grandma?"
"Fiorello, what are you getting at?" Benjamin asked. "Maggie admitted it."
Holden chimed in urgently, "Fiorello, are you saying Grandma wasn't killed by Maggie?"
Fiorello shook his head. "I don't know. I don't know what the right thing to do is. Can you two help me figure it out?"
Both of them were stumped. No one could solve the world's toughest problems.
Fiorello gave a self-deprecating smile. "There's no answer. I've been thinking here for a long time and still haven't found one. I was raised by my grandma. When my kid had an accident, I also had the urge to make her pay with her life. As a father, a grandson, and a husband, how do I fulfill these three roles? I can't do it well. My son is gone, my grandma was killed by my wife. What can I do?"
Fiorello was silent for a few seconds, then continued, "Dulce said something very true. Maggie is already in pain. The dead have found peace. The roles of father and grandson are gone. What I need to do well now is the role of a husband. As the head of the Flores family, I will also give them an explanation."
Fiorello's tone was very calm, almost eerily so.
This was the first time Holden and Benjamin had seen Fiorello like this. They didn't know how to persuade him, or what they could do to help. They couldn't understand Fiorello's inner conflict and struggle.
Holden felt uneasy and asked, "Fiorello, what are you going to do?"
Fiorello gazed into the distance and said, "The wind is picking up."
Holden and Benjamin didn't get what he meant by that.
Maggie's murder case shocked a lot of people.
Isabella was also shocked when she saw the trending news. She knew Maggie had an extreme personality, but committing murder was truly unexpected. She thoughtMaggie and Fiorello's marriage was surely over.
"Isabella, have you seen the news online? Maggie committed murder, Mrs. Kimberly Flores is dead. Maggie is terrifying; she actually did it." Olivia, holding her phone, excitedly said, "Do you think the Flores family would still want this daughter-in-law? Murderers go to prison, they get executed. Fiorello will be single, and Isabella, your chance will come."
People were just that selfish. Olivia was thinking about Fiorello being single so Isabella could have a chance, not caring about Maggie's situation at all.
Because Maggie wasn't her daughter, Olivia certainly wouldn't really worry.
Isabella said, "I saw the trending news too. I didn't expect Maggie to actually do it. Maggie has already turned herself in. If she gets prosecuted, she's done for."
"I think she's just unlucky. This time, she brought the trouble on herself. Marrying into a wealthy family, if she wanted a good life, she should have endured it. Her kid has gone. If Maggie were smart, she would have endured it. Mrs. Kimberly Flores is over eighty, she doesn't have many years left. Couldn't she outlast an old lady?" Olivia said as she pulled out her contact list, "I'll call Arya and ask."
Isabella said, "Mom, you should go to Sunset Hills and find Auntie to see what's really going on. I'll go to the police station to see Maggie and ask about the situation there. This matter depends on Fiorello's attitude. His grandmother is dead; he probably won't keep the person who killed her around, right?"
Olivia understood what Isabella meant. "Alright, I'll go to Sunset Hills and find Arya. With such a big incident, I need to show some concern."
The concern was fake; wanting to know the Flores family's attitude was real. After all, Olivia and Arya were sisters, but they weren't sincere sisters. They just had to keep up appearances.
