Chapter 445 Massive Bleeding
Maggie had already scarfed down the drugged food. With the plan rolling, Ariel had to toughen up and bring out the fish soup.
The fish soup was spiked with abortion drugs too, just to be sure.
The effects wouldn’t hit right away. Ariel brought out the fish soup, flashing a smile, “Mrs. Flores, we’re almost outta fruit. I’ll go grab some more.”
Maggie didn’t catch anything weird about Ariel and said, “Alright, you go ahead. Ariel, don’t overdo it. Once you’re done, take a break.”
“Okay.” Ariel felt super guilty. She didn’t stick around or look Maggie in the eye. She changed in the maid’s room and bounced.
As soon as Ariel left Sunset Hills, she called Kimberly, “The drug’s in. I saw Maggie eat it, Mrs. Kimberly Flores. About the money…”
Kimberly was stoked and laughed. “Don’t sweat it, the cash is ready for you.”
Kimberly didn’t wanna transfer the money electronically. If it got found out, she’d be in deep trouble with Fiorello.
She wanted to keep this on the down-low, no drama.
Maggie’s pregnancy was already shaky without her meddling. When the miscarriage happened, there’d be an excuse.
After the call, Ariel glanced back at Sunset Hills. She couldn’t go back now and had to act normal, so she hit the supermarket to buy fruit and kill time.
Maggie was pretty hungry today. She ate a bunch of grilled chicken wings and even finished the fish soup.
After eating, Maggie felt sleepy. She yawned and went upstairs to crash.
Arya was in a good mood, chilling in the living room and chatting with old friends on the phone.
Maggie knocked out soon after lying down. She didn’t know why she was so sleepy today.
In a daze, she had another nightmare.
Less than half an hour later, Maggie woke up, her heart racing, feeling super anxious.
Maggie clutched her chest, trying to breathe deeply and shift around, hoping to breathe easier. But as she moved, she saw a smear of bright red on the sheets.
Maggie freaked out, her face going pale. She quickly threw off the covers and saw a lot of blood on the bed, just like in her nightmare. Her lower abdomen started to hurt, like a giant claw was tearing her insides apart. She screamed for Arya, “Mom, call the doctor, quick.”
Maggie’s voice was full of panic. She didn’t dare move, watching the bright red blood spread and soak the sheets. She was so scared her limbs went cold, and she trembled all over.
At that moment, she felt totally helpless and terrified.
Hearing the commotion, Arya rushed upstairs. When she saw the blood on the sheets, she was stunned for a moment, then hurried to Maggie’s side. “What happened, Maggie? Don’t panic. I’ll call an ambulance right away.”
Arya was almost losing it. She was incoherent and frantic when calling the hospital. When she had given birth to Maggie, she hadn’t experienced such sudden heavy bleeding. The baby was only five months old; it was impossible to give birth now.
This sudden massive bleeding made Maggie choke up. “Mom, will I lose my baby? Mom, my belly hurts so much.”
The pain in her abdomen and lower back came in waves. Maggie couldn’t bear it, her palms were sweaty, and she looked pained.
Arya was panicking. “Maggie, don’t worry. I’m here. The doctor will be here soon. The baby will be fine. Don’t be scared. Wait a moment, I’ll get the driver to take you to the hospital.”
Arya was worried the ambulance would be too slow and went downstairs to find the driver.
Arya searched the house but couldn’t find the driver. After dropping Adalia off at school, she hadn’t seen the driver.
Arya was anxious. At this moment, the doorbell rang. She went to open the door, thinking it was the ambulance, but it was Isabella.
“Isabella, you drove here, right? Quick, help take Maggie to the hospital.” Arya looked like she had found her last hope.
Isabella saw Arya’s face was off and asked, “Aunt, what’s going on? What’s wrong with Maggie?”
“Maggie is bleeding heavily. Hurry, come upstairs with me and take Maggie to the hospital. The ambulance is taking too long. If we delay any longer, both Maggie and the baby will be in danger.” Arya hurriedly pulled Isabella upstairs to help.
