Chapter 350 The Only Wife in His Life
Kimberly shook her head in disappointment and said, "Fiorello, you can't joke about the family. You actually like a woman who got pregnant out of wedlock and now can't have children. Marrying her is useless. She has no background and can't help you with anything."
Kimberly's words were very pragmatic.
Fiorello's brows furrowed coldly, saying, "Grandma, loving someone doesn't need any reason. She doesn't need to be highly capable or perfect. I like her, and that's enough."
Kimberly was still angry, and Holden tried to help. "Grandma, family harmony is the most important thing. With modern medicine, Maggie and Fiorello can do IVF. Maggie is really great. You should trust Fiorello's choice."
"You're siding with Fiorello too." Kimberly poked Holden's leg with her cane. "You also want to drive me to my grave."
"Grandma, you are so beautiful, generous, and kind. You will definitely live a long life, and I wouldn't dare upset you." Holden grinned, trying to lighten the mood. "Look, Fiorello has been single for so many years. He finally found a wife. Fiorello used to be so cold to women and my mom was almost ready to introduce him to men. Do you want him to stay single forever?"
Holden said many nice things to cheer up Kimberly. She finally showed a slight smile, and her tone softened. "Don't try to confuse me. Today, Fiorello must divorce Maggie. A child of the Flores family can definitely find a better wife. The girl from the Holmes family is good, if you want my opinion."
Before Fiorello could refuse, Eleanor quickly said, "Jenny is definitely not suitable. She has a lot of ulterior motives and is not a good person."
Eleanor used to be satisfied with Jenny, but after Jenny tried to blackmail Fiorello, Eleanor changed her opinion of her.
As soon as Eleanor spoke, Kimberly became unhappy again. "Jenny is great. She's beautiful and kind-hearted, and she looks like she can have children. I've watched Jenny grow up. She's a more wonderful girl than Maggie. I want her to be my granddaughter-in-law. A marriage between the Holmes family and the Flores family is the right match."
The more Eleanor disliked Jenny, the more Kimberly wanted Fiorello to be with Jenny.
Eleanor argued, "Mom, you can't say that. Jenny is not suitable for Fiorello. Jenny is too scheming."
"I think you're the one who's scheming," Kimberly said with a stern face, "Jenny is great. Eleanor, I think you want to make sure the Flores family has no children in the future. You're deliberately opposing me. Joseph, look at your wife. She dares to defy me."
Eleanor was at a loss for words. "Mom, I'm not defying you. I'm just telling the truth."
The two started arguing.
"Enough," Joseph interrupted Eleanor helplessly, feeling very troubled. He had been caught between his wife and mother for over twenty years and always felt conflicted.
Joseph looked at Fiorello and said, "You decide. It's your wife who will be with you for a lifetime. We as family can only give advice."
Fiorello's tone was firm. "Maggie is my only wife in this life."
"No way." Kimberly stood up in opposition. "Fiorello, if you dare bring Maggie home, I'll die right here."
Hearing this, Holden quickly tried to calm her down. "Grandma, don't be impulsive."
Joseph spoke helplessly, "Mom, don't do this. It makes it hard for the whole family."
At that moment, a servant reported, "Mr. Flores, Mrs. Flores, Ms. Miller is here."
Hearing that Maggie had arrived, a look of surprise flashed in Fiorello's eyes.
As soon as the servant finished speaking, Maggie walked in, and Kimberly immediately flew into a rage. "How dare you come to this house."
