Chapter 640 News of Death, Bait

"William, you henchman," Kevin shouted, throwing a cup at William in anger, veins bulging on his neck. "Fiorello wants my life? Let him come and take it, right now."

"Mr. Holmes, why such a temper?" William easily dodged the cup and smiled. "You should have known this day would come when you set your sights on Visionary Futures Group. Your daughter Jenny deliberately misled Kimberly, causing her to misunderstand about the child Maggie is carrying. Jenny caused the loss of two lives. Mr. Flores taking your life is still a gain for the Holmes family."

These words were meant to scare Kevin.

Kevin was just bait; the real goal was to draw out Jenny.

Whether Kevin lived or died, the news of his death would spread by the next morning.

Kevin panicked. "Mr. Harrison, I need to see Mr. Flores. I didn't know about the things Jenny did. This is all a misunderstanding."

"Two lives lost is no misunderstanding," William glanced at the time and stopped wasting words on Kevin. He signaled the bodyguards to guard the room and let no one in.

This hospital was controlled by Fiorello. Once Kevin was in, whatever happened next was out of his hands.

After William left, Kevin pulled out his IV and considered jumping out the window. But seeing it was the eighth floor, he knew jumping would mean certain death.

Kevin was terrified, his legs feeling weak.

Just then, a nurse accompanied by bodyguards brought in more medication. "One more bottle, and you should be good."

Kevin looked at the medication and thought about Fiorello wanting to harm him. If they administered the wrong drug and called it a medical accident, he would die unjustly.

Kevin shook his head. "I don't need the IV anymore. I feel better."

But it wasn't up to him. Before he could finish speaking, two bodyguards held him down while the nurse inserted the IV into his hand. To prevent him from moving, the bodyguards stayed and held him in place.

Kevin watched the medication flow into his body through the IV, feeling utterly hopeless. "It's over."

The next day.

News of Kevin's death in the hospital spread.

Maggie was having breakfast when she saw the news online. She looked at Fiorello, who was sitting across from her, in surprise. "Kevin really died?"

Fiorello calmly peeled an egg for Adalia and said nonchalantly, "Death was too easy for him."

Maggie immediately understood. "You used Kevin as bait to draw out Jenny. But someone like Jenny might not show up even if her own father died."

"As long as there's a gravestone, Jenny will come to pay her respects," Fiorello said, taking a sip of milk. "Take action first; the results will come eventually."

After breakfast, Fiorello spent some time with Adalia. When William and the driver arrived, and Fiorello was about to leave for the office, Adalia reached out and grabbed his hand.

Adalia couldn't speak and had to use gestures to communicate, which Fiorello and Maggie sometimes didn't understand.

Just then, Celine arrived and said, "Mr. Flores, Adalia wants to go out with you."

Since the incident, Adalia hadn't liked going out. This was the first time she had asked to go out.

Fiorello picked Adalia up, always willing to fulfill her requests.

"Alright, I'll take you with me," Fiorello said, then looked at Maggie. "It's cold out. You should rest at home. I'll take care of Adalia today."

"Okay," Maggie said, pleased that Adalia wanted to go out.

Father and daughter left, taking Celine along so she could look after and teach Adalia when Fiorello was busy.

Maggie planned to go back to her room for a nap when Frank arrived.
