Chapter 453 Using Family Ties to Coerce
Kimberly was bawling her eyes out. She didn't even try to grab the gun from Fiorello. Clutching her chest, she cried out, "I did everything for you, and now you wanna kill me? Unbelievable."
Fiorello's face was stone-cold. "Grandma, zip it, or I might just do it myself."
Kimberly's eyes were swimming in tears, and her lips were quivering with rage.
Right then, Holden burst in, snatching the gun from Fiorello. "Fiorello, what the hell are you doing?"
No matter how pissed he was, he couldn't just off their own grandma.
Joseph and Eleanor came rushing in too. They saw the standoff and freaked out, running over to break it up.
Joseph grabbed Fiorello. "Fiorello, that's your grandma. You can't do this."
Eleanor chimed in, "Fiorello, killing family is messed up. No matter what she did, you can't just shoot her."
Fiorello let out a bitter laugh. Using family ties to guilt-trip him, huh? He got it, but thinking about his son's cold, dead body made him wanna end Kimberly.
Fiorello's laugh was like a punch to the gut.
Eleanor's eyes were tearing up. "Fiorello, I get it. I know how much it hurts."
Joseph looked between Kimberly and Fiorello. One was his mom, the other his son. He was stuck in the middle, feeling totally helpless.
But Fiorello couldn't kill family, or he'd ruin his own life.
Joseph could only scold Kimberly, "Mom, what were you thinking? How could you do this?"
With everyone around, Kimberly felt bold and said, "Maggie ain't carrying a Flores."
That made Fiorello even madder.
Joseph saw Fiorello's rage and quickly pulled Kimberly away. "Mom, let's get you back to your room."
Fiorello blocked them, his face icy. "Grandma, if you don't explain what happened to my son, you ain't going anywhere."
Kimberly was stunned, Joseph and Eleanor were stressed, and Holden was clueless about what to do.
Just then, Fiorello's phone rang. It was Arya. "Fiorello, get to the hospital now. Maggie's freaking out, bleeding again, and she's passed out."
Hearing that Maggie had fainted, Fiorello bolted to the hospital, leaving the mess behind.
After he left, Joseph finally exhaled.
Joseph looked at the stubborn Kimberly, feeling defeated. "Mom, do you really wanna tear this family apart? That was Fiorello's kid, not some stranger's. A five-month-old fetus, and you did that. What were you thinking?"
Eleanor added, "Mom, you've lost it. That was a life. Fiorello was gonna be a dad for the first time, and you gave him a dead baby. You didn't see him crying, holding that tiny body. It was gut-wrenching. And Maggie, how much more pain does she have to go through?"
Holden couldn't wrap his head around Kimberly's actions. She seemed terrifying now.
Holden took a few steps back, scared to get close. "Grandma, you're not the same. You're scary now."
"Holden." Kimberly's eyes filled with tears. She couldn't understand why everyone was blaming her.
Her voice shaking, Kimberly asked, "Is that kid really Fiorello's? Did you do a paternity test?"
Joseph replied, "We don't need a test. I saw the baby. He looked just like Fiorello. But if you want one, fine. I'll get it done right now to show you how wrong you are."
Eleanor didn't want to say more. She'd never gotten along with Kimberly, and now, because of Kimberly's stubbornness, her grandson was dead. In her heart, Eleanor no longer saw Kimberly as her mother-in-law.
Kimberly's actions would cost her dearly. Fiorello and Holden wouldn't see her as their grandma anymore. Once trust is broken, it's hard to fix.
Kimberly demanded a paternity test, so Joseph got it done ASAP. The results came back in three hours.
When Kimberly saw the results, regret hit her like a truck, and she fainted on the spot.
