Chapter 585 It Takes a Villain to Deal with a Villain
Marriage is always in the hope of happiness.
Fiorello held Maggie's hand and walked together towards the main stage.
The wedding officiant smiled and said, "Mr. Flores, do you take this beautiful and gentle Maggie to be your wife, to love and cherish her for the rest of your life?"
"I do." Fiorello held Maggie's hand, took the microphone, and said affectionately, "Maggie, I love you. From the moment I first saw you, our fate was sealed. I hope to spend the rest of my life with you, growing old together."
Fiorello's heartfelt confession moved the guests. Dulce, happy for Maggie, said, "Watching this makes me want to get married too."
Sitting next to her, Francis glanced at Dulce, his eyes deepening.
On stage, the couple exchanged rings and kissed, and Dulce clapped excitedly.
Where there is joy, there is also sorrow.
Jenny, sitting among the guests, watched the couple on stage, gripping her wine glass tighter.
Jenny's eyes seemed to shoot daggers at Maggie, wishing to pierce her with a thousand holes.
Olivia, also jealous, deliberately said to Arya, "Maggie is so lucky, unlike Isabella. Isabella doesn't even dare to leave her house now. God, it's so unfair."
Arya just gave an awkward smile and said nothing.
She had heard too many jealous remarks from Olivia today.
Mark couldn't stand it and said, "Well, Maggie's luck is something others can only dream of. Not only did she marry into a wealthy family, but she also has a great mother-in-law. Today's wedding was all organized by Maggie's mother-in-law. The necklace Maggie is wearing is said to be worth eight figures."
The more Mark spoke, the more uncomfortable Olivia felt.
Olivia said angrily, "You don't need to say it; we all know. Mark, Arya worked hard to raise Maggie, and you just took advantage, getting such a big daughter without spending a penny."
Olivia was deliberately trying to make Arya feel bad, pretending to stand up for her but actually trying to drive a wedge between them.
Mark, thick-skinned, laughed and said, "I call it good luck. Why doesn't anyone else have such a capable daughter like me? Olivia, stop being jealous. It's useless. Your daughter definitely won't marry into a wealthy family."
"Mark, what do you mean?" Olivia's face turned ugly. "Arya, look at how Mark is talking. Why do you keep such a heartless man around? I'll introduce you to someone better."
Before Arya could respond, Mark sneered and said, "Olivia, can't you stand seeing Arya doing better than you? If you really wanted to introduce someone better to Arya, you would have done it long ago. You probably kept the good ones for yourself."
Mark showed no mercy to Olivia, leaving her speechless.
Arya said, "Say less, today is Maggie's wedding."
Mark said, "Who told Olivia to speak so harshly?"
Olivia, angry, said, "What did I say? Mark, you deceived Arya, and now you think you're in the right."
Arya felt a headache coming on and rubbed her forehead.
The ceremony ended, and Maggie needed to go backstage to change into her reception dress.
Dulce went to the backstage lounge to help.
Maggie had four outfits today, each with a different look for each part of the event.
The makeup artist was changing Maggie's makeup, and Dulce brought some fruit over. "Have something to eat. I know you must be hungry."
"You know me best." Maggie smiled, took a bite of the fruit, and asked, "Dulce, where's Adalia? I didn't see her earlier."
Maggie hadn't noticed Adalia in the audience while she was on stage.
She thought she might have missed her, so she waited until now to ask.
Dulce said, "I didn't see her. She might be with Arya."
"Dulce, can you help me find Adalia? She's been very excited today and running around."
"Okay, I'll go look. You finish changing your makeup."
Dulce went out to look for Adalia. Arya was also looking for her. Arya thought Adalia might have gone to the lounge to find Maggie. When she found out Maggie hadn't seen Adalia either, Arya got anxious. "Where did Adalia go? I haven't seen her all this time."
