Chapter 512 Excitement
How lucky was she to have snagged his heart?
Fiorello gazed at her, moonlight pouring through the window, the hazy night giving her an extra touch of mystery.
Maggie was a knockout, stunning from every angle like a piece of art.
He adored everything about her—her looks, her honesty, all of it.
He gently touched her face, his voice deep and smooth. "I didn't exist in this world until I met you, Maggie."
That last note was dripping with charm.
She beamed, stood up on the window seat, and wrapped her arms around his neck. This time, she leaned in for a kiss.
Fiorello took the chance to lift her off the window seat, and they kissed passionately, picking up where they left off, shedding that last bit of clothing.
Their hot skin pressed together, he laid her on the soft bed, their fingers intertwined, bodies tangled, the clash of flesh and strength making it impossible to stop.
He missed her so much, day and night, a longing that had turned into a sickness only she could cure.
Maggie looked up at the man above her, her hands clinging to his strong back. In that moment, the pain in her heart was completely healed.
As long as he was in this world, this journey was worth it.
After their passionate moment, the world went quiet again. They still held each other tightly, their hands intertwined, their heartbeats racing, not yet calmed.
Tears of joy welled up in Maggie's eyes.
She thought lying in his arms again in this life was a luxury.
Maggie feared it was a dream, that when she woke up, he would be gone.
Maggie held him tightly, snuggling close to him.
He could feel her unease too.
Fiorello kissed her neck, his voice deep and low. "I'm always here. I'm just your man, for this lifetime."
He knew what kind of security she needed, and he gave her enough of it.
Maggie's strong heart crumbled at this moment. She nestled in his arms, having pretended to be strong for too long, not daring to let down her guard even a little. At this moment, she was just a woman who needed a man's protection.
"I'm tired." Maggie was really exhausted, both physically and mentally.
"Have a good sleep, I'm here with you."
With him there, she felt very at ease. This sleep was the most restful one Maggie had since losing her baby.
When she woke up again, it was already the next morning. Maggie opened her eyes to see the unfamiliar surroundings, thinking of the passionate night before, it felt like a dream.
The room was empty, only Maggie was there. The white curtains fluttered in the wind, adding a touch of unreality.
Maggie found her phone and saw that it was already 10:30 AM.
She forgot to inform Arya. She went out in the middle of the night and didn't return all night. Arya must be worried.
Maggie hurried to find clothes to wear, only to remember that she had gone out in her pajamas last night.
At that moment, Fiorello walked in wearing casual clothes, carrying a new set of clothes. "You're awake. These are clothes William just brought over, in your size. Try them on and see if they look good. I already called Mom and told her, so you don't have to rush back so early."
He still called Arya "Mom." In his heart, Maggie was still his wife, and Arya was still his mother-in-law.
"You called my mom?" Maggie was nervous. "What did she say? She must be angry knowing I'm with you again."
Arya was worried she would get hurt again.
Fiorello sat down on the edge of the bed and said, "She didn't say anything else, just told me to remind you to eat. Your stomach isn't good, you can't go hungry. Get dressed, I'll take you to eat."
"Don't you need to go to work?" Maggie said as she dressed under the covers, "If your dad finds out, there will definitely be trouble. I should go back first."
Fiorello laughed. "So what are we doing? Having an affair?"
That question stumped Maggie. Indeed, they had sneaked into this apartment and were now sneaking out. Wasn't that just like having an affair?
Maggie finished dressing and said, "We have our divorce papers now, so isn't it an affair?"
"So my wife likes to play this way," Fiorello teased her on purpose, "Are you coming back tonight?"
