Chapter 379 The Wife's Revenge
Maggie yanked Emily's hair and headed straight to the testing agency.
The paternity test results would take 7 to 9 days.
On the way back to Cityhomes West, Dulce asked, "Maggie, what do you think of that kid? If she’s really your daughter, will you take her back?"
Maggie leaned back in the car seat, thinking about Emily, and said, "Emily's got a lot of issues, she's a real handful."
"Yeah, she's not even five and already a nightmare," Dulce said. "She'll be even harder to handle when she grows up."
Maggie sighed, "If she is my daughter, I'll have to bring her back and try to teach her. What she becomes depends on her upbringing."
"It's going to be tough," Dulce said. "She's already so rebellious. Plus, with the Flores family and your pregnancy, you don't have time for this. Maybe we should..."
"Dulce," Maggie gently interrupted, "let's wait for the test results first."
She knew what Dulce meant, but it was too early to decide anything.
When they got back to Cityhomes West, Arya asked, "Did you see her? How was it?"
Before Maggie could answer, Dulce said, "We saw her, and I hope it's a mistake. That kid is too rebellious and snobbish."
Dulce listed Emily's bad habits.
Maggie, tired from the trip, sat down to rest. She was also worried about the child's upbringing.
Arya looked concerned. If Emily was Maggie's daughter, she knew Maggie would take her back no matter what.
They still had a chance to guide her while she was young. Once she grew older, it would be much harder.
Now, they just had to wait for the test results.
Maggie went to her room to rest. In the afternoon, Eleanor brought over some supplements and imported fruits.
Just after Eleanor left, Fiorello called. Knowing Eleanor had brought fruits, he reminded Maggie not to overeat because of the high sugar content.
Fiorello had become very talkative lately, reminding Maggie about everything, even repeating himself to be sure.
Maggie felt touched by his concern.
Kimberly was curious about her great-grandson but too proud to visit Maggie, so she asked Holden.
Maggie didn't want to think about anything else now. She was just waiting to move over the weekend and for the test results, letting everything take its course.
Dulce stayed with Maggie for a while before returning to her beauty salon. Maggie rested until 4:30 PM, then went to pick up Adalia from kindergarten.
Meanwhile, at the hospital, after treatment, James survived but was paralyzed from the waist down.
James couldn't accept this and was in great pain. His parents were heartbroken and talked about suing Isabella.
Isabella stood at the hospital room door, listening to James's parents angrily cursing her. She pushed the door open.
Seeing Isabella, James's parents got even angrier, and James became agitated.
Ava yelled, "You wicked woman, how dare you come here! You ruined my son, I want to kill you."
Ava tried to hit Isabella, but Isabella grabbed her hand and said, "If you want to end up picking trash on the streets, go ahead. I'm still James' wife, and I control all his assets. Whether he gets treatment or not needs my signature. If I'm unhappy and give up on his treatment, don't blame me."
These words scared James's parents.
Isabella was James' legal wife, and she had the first say over his assets.
"Wicked woman," Barry trembled with anger but only dared to curse, not act.
James glared at Isabella with hatred, wishing he could get up and kill her, but he was paralyzed and couldn't move.
"Barry, Ava, I need to talk to James. Please step out for a moment."
Isabella had brought two people with her and signaled them to take Barry and Ava out.
The people with her immediately stepped forward, took James's parents out, and closed the door.
Only James and Isabella were left in the room. James was scared. "What do you want to do?"
