Chapter 392 The Opportunity Delivered
"You're lying! I didn't divorce Mark," Ashley yelled. "He's still my husband. Arya, you're shameless. You seduced him while my daughter was having surgery."
If it hadn't been for Melissa's surgery, Ashley would have caused a scene in Cyberland long ago. Now, with nothing left to lose—Melissa’s surgery behind her, Timothy’s health compromised from donating bone marrow, and Mark was on the verge of divorcing her—Ashley wasn’t about to back down easily.
Her accusations hit Arya like a ton of bricks, making her realize Mark had deceived her again; the divorce certificate he'd shown her was fake. Arya's face hardened. "I didn’t seduce your husband. If you can, take him away from Cyberland. I want peace. I don’t like him; he’s the one bothering me."
Arya had long given up on Mark.
"You're lying, Arya. You're just a mistress," Ashley shouted, drawing the neighbors' attention.
Adalia saw the crowd and the fierce Ashley. She stood in front of Arya. "You can't insult my grandma. She's the best."
"Adalia, step aside. I'm not afraid of her," Arya said, pulling Adalia away to protect her from Ashley.
As Adalia was pulled away, Arya and Ashley started arguing, each sticking to their own story.
The crowd grew, and Adalia was pushed to the edge.
Adalia watched Arya argue and wanted to cheer for her.
She turned and saw Alan nearby.
Adalia knew about Tommy being lost. When Emily was lost, Maggie was worried. Now that Tommy was missing, Alan must be anxious too.
In Adalia's heart, Alan was still her father.
She ran over. "Alan."
Alan was home to get something when he heard Adalia's voice. His eyes almost welled up with tears.
Adalia's voice comforted him. "Alan, don't worry. Tommy will come back."
Alan squatted down, looking at the cute and sensible Adalia, his heart softened. "Adalia, Tommy will come back. Are you moving today?"
"Yes, but Emily is lost, and mom and dad are looking for her," Adalia said. "Alan, after we move, I'll still visit you often."
Adalia kept mentioning Alan but didn't say a word about Susan.
With moist eyes, Alan said, "Okay, you must come back to see me. I'll take you to KFC again."
"Okay, deal," Adalia said with a smile.
Alan hesitated, then smiled too.
Looking at the adorable Adalia, Alan couldn't bear to take her away.
Just then, Susan's voice came. "Alan, you're fast. I asked you to get something."
Hearing Susan, Alan urged Adalia, "Go back quickly."
Alan gave Adalia a push.
But it was too late. Susan had already walked over and saw Adalia.
Seeing Adalia, Susan's eyes lit up. To her, Adalia was the key to finding Tommy.
They had failed to capture her last night, but now Adalia had come on her own. This was a great opportunity.
"Adalia, stop right there," Susan said, walking over quickly.
Adalia had been beaten and scolded by Susan for a long time. Hearing Susan's voice, she instinctively stopped.
Adalia looked at Susan timidly, without the liveliness she had with Alan. All she felt was fear.
