Chapter 456 There Was a Kind of Pain Called Silence

Honestly, Fiorello didn't give a damn anymore about who sent that warning text.

The kid was gone, and Kimberly had already fessed up to drugging Maggie.

Now, checking the phone number was just to see if anyone else had it out for Maggie's kid.

And that number? Probably Kimberly's doing.

William chimed in, "The number was a burner, no ID. Just some random street-bought SIM."

Fiorello wiped his face and motioned to William. "You head back and keep an eye on the company. Gregory's gonna try something else for sure."

"Got it, Mr. Flores." William knew Fiorello couldn't leave now. Maggie lost the baby, and Fiorello had to stick around.

After giving the company update, William bounced.

Around the corner, a figure lurked. Isabella had come to check on Maggie and overheard William and Fiorello talking about the text. She ducked back to eavesdrop.

Isabella's heart raced 'cause she was the one who sent that warning text.

She just wanted to scare her; she didn't think it would actually happen.

Maggie's baby was really gone.

Isabella looked at Fiorello, slumped on the bench, and felt a pang of guilt. She walked over and sat next to him.

"Mr. Flores, how's Maggie?" Isabella started.

Lost in his grief, Fiorello didn't even look at her. "Not good. You're close to Maggie; please help comfort her when you can."

"Of course," Isabella said, "No one saw this coming. By the way, have you figured out why Maggie hemorrhaged?"

Fiorello wasn't about to spill the beans. He just pressed his lips together and stayed quiet, and Isabella didn't push it.

Just then, Arya came out of the ward with Adalia. Seeing Isabella, she said, "Isabella, you're here. Can you keep an eye on Maggie? I need to grab some clothes."

Fiorello quickly stood up. "I'll get the clothes."

Arya, looking icy, didn't say anything. Sensing the tension, Isabella went into the ward.

After Isabella went in, Arya walked up to Fiorello. "Was it Kimberly who hurt Maggie's baby?"

Arya had just heard the truth from Maggie.

Arya was struggling to accept it; it was too cruel.

Fiorello nodded, and Arya, fuming, asked, "Why would she do this? Even if Kimberly hated Maggie, this is heartless."

Fiorello's voice was rough. "Grandma thought Maggie's baby wasn't mine, so she did this."

Arya got even angrier; it was a hit on Maggie's character.

Arya knew it was because Maggie had Adalia before marriage, which made the Flores family suspicious.

After Adalia's identity came out, Eleanor stopped visiting Maggie as much.

It was human nature, Arya got that, but killing a five-month-old fetus? That was beyond her.

Arya, who hadn't stopped crying for days, turned away to wipe her tears. "I'll take Adalia home first."

After Arya left, Fiorello sat back on the bench. After a night to cool off, he wasn't about to go after Kimberly and kill her.

Fiorello felt like he was teetering on the edge of a cliff, ready to fall into an abyss.

The pain of losing a child, mixed with family drama, made it hard to breathe.

Benjamin, who was on vacation abroad, rushed back when he heard the news to comfort Fiorello.

Dulce found out from Arya and hurried to the hospital. Knowing Kimberly caused it, she was livid and ready to throw down. "Mrs. Kimberly Flores is nuts, doing that to a five-month-old fetus. Where is she? I'll go chop her up right now."
