Chapter 349 Standing Up for Her

A good husband knew how to sweet-talk his wife and take care of her.

Fiorello had that down pat.

Women’s emotions could change on a dime.

But after a good 'workout', all those bad vibes just melt away.

Then, Fiorello got a message from Holden, telling him to get back to the mansion ASAP because something went down.

He had a bunch of missed calls from family, but his phone was on silent, so he missed them all.

Fiorello glanced at the message, calmly turned off the screen, and said to Maggie, "Babe, you rest up. I gotta head back to the old mansion. After I make sure you're okay, I need to go calm Grandma down."

Maggie sighed in relief and said, "Just talk to Grandma nicely, okay? Don’t get her all riled up again. I’ll deal with Mom and Dad tomorrow."

"Got it. I’ll handle this. Don’t stress," Fiorello said, pulling on his clothes. "Grandma and the others are still mad. It’s not a good time for you to show up. I’ll sort it out and then we can all sit down for a meal."

"Okay, go quickly," Maggie said. "I’ll head back to Cityhomes West. If we just disappear, my mom will freak out."

"I’ll have Brian come get you."

Fiorello called Brian, and half an hour later, Brian showed up at the villa to take Maggie back to Cityhomes West while Fiorello headed to Flores Manor.

At Flores Manor, Kimberly was still fuming. After they got back to the old mansion, someone anonymously sent a document revealing Maggie was pregnant before marriage.

And it was Jenny who had spilled the beans.

Seeing the Flores family leave the banquet one by one, Jenny figured they must’ve found out about Maggie’s infertility, so she dropped the premarital pregnancy bomb to make Kimberly even angrier.

Joseph and Eleanor read the document and were speechless. They realized they had totally misjudged Maggie.

Even Eleanor, who usually had something nice to say, was at a loss for words.

They had all tried calling Fiorello, but he didn’t pick up, making it impossible to reach him.

Kimberly was livid, and Holden quickly messaged Fiorello, telling him to get back immediately or things would get ugly.

Fiorello got to the old mansion at eleven at night. The place was lit up, and no one had gone to bed; they were all waiting for him.

Kimberly insisted they find Fiorello tonight.

As soon as he walked into the hall, he felt the tension.

Seeing him, Joseph slammed the table and snapped, "Fiorello, you’ve got some nerve. Maggie had a kid before marrying you, and you kept that from us. You’ve been lying to us all along."

First, Maggie’s infertility was exposed, and now the fact that she had a kid. Fiorello knew someone was pulling the strings.

But now wasn’t the time to figure out who that was.

Kimberly asked, "Fiorello, were you tricked? Did you know Maggie had a kid?"

Holden stayed quiet, unsure how to help Fiorello.

Eleanor hesitated but stayed silent, waiting to hear what Fiorello had to say.

"Grandma, I knew," Fiorello said calmly, mixing truth with lies. "Before we got married, Maggie told me everything. I married her after thinking it through and hoped for the family’s support. I love her. She did nothing wrong. It was my choice to be with her. At first, I also deceived her; she didn’t know my identity."

Hearing this, Kimberly, heartbroken, tapped her cane. "You’re still defending her, Fiorello. You’ve really been bewitched."

"Grandma, you watched me grow up. Do you think I’m the type to be bewitched by beauty?" Fiorello said seriously. "I won’t divorce her. As her husband, I should protect her. I hope you give Maggie a chance. After spending time with her, you’ll change your opinion of her."
