Chapter 283 Fiorello Takes Action
This was really awkward.
Maggie quickly extracted herself from Fiorello's embrace, and Isabella, feeling equally awkward, turned away.
"The tissue in the room ran out, so I went to get some tissues," Isabella said, avoiding direct eye contact with the two.
Maggie replied, "There are napkins on the coffee table. Let me get them for you."
"'I'll get them myself,'" Isabella said, grabbing the napkins and heading straight to the bedroom, not wanting to disturb the two.
After Isabella went into the guest room, Fiorello looked at Maggie and asked, "Why is Isabella here?"
It was really hard for them to get some alone time.
This three-bedroom apartment was just too small.
Fiorello really wanted to take Maggie back to his big villa right now.
Before marrying Maggie, Fiorello didn't live in the Flores Manor. He had bought a separate villa and lived there alone.
Recently, he had it renovated, and it would be ready before the company's anniversary celebration on the 8th of next month. That's when he planned to confess to Maggie and take her back to their true home.
Maggie put her finger to her lips and gestured Fiorello back to the master bedroom.
"James's family schemed against Isabella, and it caused quite a scene tonight."
Maggie briefly explained the situation, and Fiorello asked, "Did you get hurt?"
His main concern was always Maggie.
He didn't care about how others fared in the fight.
In a family brawl, Maggie could easily get hurt while trying to mediate.
Maggie was touched and said, "I just bumped my waist. It's fine."
"Let me see," Fiorello said as he lifted Maggie's shirt to check. "Left side or right side?'"
"Left side," Maggie answered honestly,
Fiorello saw that Maggie's left waist was red and immediately frowned. "'Lie down.'"
Maggie's cheeks turned red. "'Fiorello, be serious.'"
She misunderstood, thinking Fiorello was about to get frisky.
Fiorello understood her thoughts and raised an eyebrow. "Honey, I'm asking you to lie down so I can apply the medicine. What are you thinking?"
Hearing this, Maggie blushed even more, feeling extremely embarrassed. She glared at Fiorello and turned her face away, denying, "I wasn't thinking about anything."
"You women always say one thing and mean another." Fiorello chuckled. "I'll go get the ointment and rub it in for you."
Fiorello went to get the ointment, and Maggie sat on the edge of the bed, feeling sweet inside, with a smile unknowingly forming on her lips.
Normally, no matter what injury she had, even if it was just a small cut on her finger, he was nervous to get her some medicine.
Sometimes, Maggie felt it was unnecessary to make a big deal out of a small scratch, but seeing him so worried about her made her very happy.
As the saying went, someone who loved you would feel your pain even if you just frowned.
Someone who didn't love you wouldn't even notice if you were dead, thinking you were just asleep.
Fiorello came back with the ointment and locked the master bedroom door.
Maggie saw him lock the door and asked, "Why lock the door?"
"To avoid any awkwardness," Fiorello said as he sat down, "Lie down, let me rub it in for you."
It had been a bit awkward earlier.
Maggie obediently lay down, and Fiorello lifted her shirt, squeezed some ointment into his palm, rubbed it to warm it up, and then placed his palm on her waist.
Maggie asked, "Is this how you apply ointment?"
Fiorello explained, "Warming the palms can open your skin pores and make the medicine penetrate quickly, which works better."
"You make sense," Maggie said, resting her chin on her arm. "By the way, honey, do you have any good ideas for dealing with that scoundrel James for Isabella?"
Fiorello wouldn't worry about other people's problems unless Maggie asked for help.
"Tell me more about their current situation and their general circumstances."
"James is a hospital director, recently promoted a few months ago. He had to take a break from work due to a cheating scandal but is now back at the hospital. Isabella has been a full-time housewife for eight years. They don't have any children. Isabella wants a divorce, but James wants Isabella's family house as compensation."
Maggie explained in detail, and Fiorello continued to apply the ointment with his palm.
Knowing the general situation of the two's divorce, Fiorello said, "Isabella's desire for divorce is not necessarily sticking to this matter, and reverse thinking may have better results."
Maggie became interested and looked up at him. "What idea do you have?"
