Chapter 559 She Took the Cigarette Butt Away
Olivia's question was so direct that if it had been Arya in the past, she would have just smiled and brushed it off.
But this time, Arya said directly, "Yes, we're still holding a grudge about what happened last time."
This left Olivia momentarily speechless.
"Arya." Olivia tightly held Arya's hand, her eyes sincere, "Don't scare me, you're not the type to hold grudges. By the way, is Mr. Flores here? I heard Mr. Flores is going to marry Maggie. It sounds so enviable."
"He's in the side room talking with Dr. Mason," Arya said. "Fiorello made the right choice. He's completely devoted to our Maggie. There's a saying, if it's not yours, you can't take it; if it is yours, no matter how much you go around in circles, it's still yours."
Hearing this, Olivia was seething and jealous. What was she showing off for? Just because she found a rich son-in-law? How smug.
Despite her thoughts, Olivia still praised, "You're right, that's exactly how it is."
Olivia kept chatting with Arya, showing no intention of leaving. As they talked, the sky darkened, and it started to rain.
Arya politely invited her to stay for dinner, and Olivia readily agreed, "Sure, we sisters haven't chatted in a long time. Talking with you makes me feel much better."
Arya felt awkward and didn't know what to say. Remembering that it was time for Mark's herbal bath, she said, "I need to check on Mark in the treatment room. Olivia, you can sit here for a while."
"Go ahead, don't worry about me. I feel at home in Fiorello's house," Olivia said, showing no sign of politeness.
As soon as Arya left, Olivia looked around and headed to the side room.
Fiorello was sitting on the sofa, holding a half-burnt cigarette. He took a puff, lost interest, and stubbed it out in the ashtray.
Seeing the cigarette butt, Olivia got excited. This was a sample.
Fiorello and the others showed no intention of leaving, so Olivia had to hide and wait.
Fiorello wanted to get some information from Dylan about the person who had clashed with Brian last time.
Dylan said, "Fiorello, how many people have you offended? I have no idea. But this person will show up sooner or later. You don't necessarily have to catch them yourself."
"This person is not ordinary," Fiorello said gravely. "I haven't figured out their motive yet."
Dylan said, "Your wedding with Maggie is set for September. That's less than four months away. You should focus more on the wedding."
Fiorello took a sip of water and said, "You're not getting any younger either. How about I introduce you to someone?"
"No thanks, I'd like to live a few more years," Dylan quickly said. "I heard you almost stabbed yourself last time. I can't handle that kind of luck. Being single makes me live longer."
Fiorello smirked, "Some functions will degrade if you don't use them. As a doctor, you should know that better than anyone."
Brian, who was nearby, burst out laughing. Dylan glared at him, "You, a virgin, have the nerve to laugh at me."
Brian was surprised, "Dr. Mason, how do you know I'm still a virgin?"
Dylan stood up, "I'm a doctor. I can tell at a glance."
"How can you tell, Dr. Mason? Teach me," Brian asked, very curious.
"You're not my apprentice," Dylan said. "I'm going to find my little apprentice. Such a talent, I need to train well."
Dylan left, and Fiorello went upstairs to find Maggie. Brian also went off to do his own thing.
Seeing everyone leave, Olivia quickly went over and put the cigarette butt in her pocket.
Erin Bennett, the housekeeper who came to clean, saw this and was puzzled, "Olivia, what are you doing with the cigarette butt? Please leave it to me to clean up. You're a guest; you shouldn't trouble yourself."
Olivia laughed nervously, her mind racing, "I'm used to cleaning at home. I can't sit still. It's nothing, just a habit. I'll throw it away."
Afraid that Erin would take the cigarette butt from her, Olivia quickly left with it. She still needed to find a way to get a sample from Adalia.
Erin found it really strange. Why would anyone put a dirty cigarette butt in their pocket?
As Erin was cleaning the table, Maggie came downstairs, "Erin, please cut some fruit and bring it to the study upstairs."
"Sure, Maggie, right away." The new housekeeper Erin was very perceptive, knowing that Maggie was the lady of the house, and she was very polite.
Maggie turned to go upstairs, and Erin added, "By the way, Maggie, Olivia was acting a bit strange just now. She took a cigarette butt with her."
