Arya wiped away her tears and kept cleaning with Adalia. They had to move on.
Just then, the doorbell rang.
Dulce, who had heard about them getting kicked out of Sunset Hills, rushed over.
Arya opened the door and was surprised to see Dulce. "Dulce, what are you doing here?"
"I went to Sunset Hills to find you and heard you moved out. I figured you must be back here," Dulce said, clearly upset. "How could the Flores family just kick you out like that? I'm going to give them a piece of my mind."
Arya held Dulce back and shook her head. "Maggie already signed the divorce papers at the police station. All I want now is for Maggie to come back safely. Holden said she'll be back in a couple of days."
"They really signed the divorce papers?" Dulce couldn't believe it. She had worked so hard to bring them together, hoping they'd be happy. But in just a year, everything fell apart.
Both Maggie and Fiorello were left with deep wounds.
Arya said, "Fiorello is still in a coma in the hospital. At this point, no one can say who owes whom, or who is right or wrong. This is for the best."
Dulce felt sorry for Maggie and Fiorello's marriage. Just a month ago, they were so in love and looking forward to their baby. Who could have predicted this?
Dulce glanced at Adalia, who was holding a towel by the balcony, and then at Arya's newly graying hair. She said with concern, "Arya, Adalia, let me help you clean up. We'll make it spotless to welcome Maggie back and start fresh."
"Dulce, thank you," Arya said sincerely. Since Maggie's incident, Dulce had been tirelessly helping out, both financially and physically.
"Arya, no need for thanks," Dulce said, rolling up her sleeves and walking over to Adalia. "Adalia, let's get to work."
Adalia nodded. "Okay, Dulce."
Just a few hours after Maggie and Fiorello finalized their divorce, Joseph had the news posted online.
The news caused quite a stir, with many netizens discussing it.
People still vividly remembered Fiorello and Maggie standing together at the anniversary celebration. They were such a perfect match—a talented man and a beautiful woman. No one could have imagined such a tragic end.
Seeing the news online, Jenny laughed triumphantly and boasted to Kevin, "Dad, look, Fiorello and Maggie are divorced. I did it."
Kevin saw the news but wasn't too pleased. He said, "Fiorello is in a coma, the Flores family is in turmoil, Holden is incompetent, and if Gregory seizes this opportunity, he will be the biggest winner. Jenny, instead of pinning all your hopes on Fiorello, you should focus on Gregory."
Kevin had bigger ambitions. With Gregory around, he intended to make use of him.
Jenny's smile froze, and her voice turned sharp. "Dad, are you out of your mind? Do you want me to go after Gregory and marry him?"
Kevin glanced at Jenny's belly. "How long do you think you can hide your pregnancy? This is your best bargaining chip. The Flores family is currently engulfed in sorrow. Mrs. Flores has passed away, Fiorello is severely injured, and Maggie has lost her baby. The baby in your belly could be the hope that pulls them out of their grief, making you the most valuable person to them."
Jenny clutched her belly in fear. "Dad, I don't know what you're talking about. What baby?"
"Do you think you can hide your little secret from me?" Kevin said sternly, "I've arranged a meeting with Gregory. The Holmes family has always been beneath the Flores family, and Gregory can help us elevate the Holmes family."
Jenny panicked. "Dad, what are you planning with Gregory? You can't go to him."
Kevin walked over to Jenny, gripping her shoulders firmly. "Jenny, as a Holmes, you can't just think about your romantic entanglements. I used to think you were incapable, but now you've turned the Flores family upside down. This is our chance. I will help you become the next hostess of the Flores family. Then, whether you want Gregory or Fiorello, it's up to you."
"The next hostess of the Flores family?" Jenny's ambition was ignited.
Kevin said, "Fiorello stabbed himself for Maggie. A man like that will never give you his heart. But if you control the entire Flores family, won't Fiorello be yours for the taking?"
