Chapter 600 Busy Affairs

Maggie's words made Arya's smile freeze.

Arya understood what Maggie meant and said, "Maggie, they're just kids. No one will forget Adalia. Everyone will keep looking for Adalia. Your health isn't great, and, luckily, you could get pregnant now. You need to take care of yourself and the baby. Don't let yourself have any regrets."

Arya wanted Maggie to stop looking for Adalia and focus on her pregnancy.

Maggie leaned against the headboard, feeling very conflicted, and remained silent.

Arya didn't say anything more and went downstairs to get Maggie something to eat.

Maggie noticed that Fiorello hadn't come back yet. Remembering that Fiorello had said last night that something had happened to Holden, she called him to ask about it, but no one answered.

Maggie had a bad feeling. Since she couldn't reach him, she could only wait for Fiorello to come back.

After eating and taking a nap, Dulce came to visit Maggie in the afternoon. When she found out Maggie was pregnant, she was especially happy. "Maggie, you're amazing. You must take care of yourself and give the Flores family a baby."

Maggie rarely smiled, but she did now. "I hope this baby and I are really meant to be."

"This time everything will be fine. Just rest in bed until the baby is born safely." Dulce touched Maggie's belly and said happily, "This must be a good baby, coming to cheer you up when you're feeling down."

This baby was Maggie's current hope, a ray of light in her dark life.

Maggie gently stroked her belly and said with determination, "I will definitely protect this baby and give birth to him safely."

"That's the spirit," Dulce said with a smile. "Life is about looking forward, Maggie. This is hope. Believe that Adalia will come back sooner or later."

With hope in her heart, she bravely moved forward.

Maggie nodded. "Yes, everything will get better and better."

"When Fiorello comes back and finds out you're pregnant, he'll be so happy." Dulce teased, "Fiorello's sperm is quite strong. Even in barren soil, it can produce fruit."

Maggie blushed and smiled. "You can say anything."

"There's no one else here," Dulce laughed. "By the way, why don't you call Fiorello and ask him to come back?"

"I called, but no one answered. He might be busy. It's okay, I'll tell him tonight."

Maggie didn't want to be too deliberate about it. A little more time wouldn't make a difference.

When Fiorello came back, it was already late at night. He hadn't slept for a day and a night and had been busy until late. He was very tired.

Fiorello didn't go straight to the bedroom but sat on the couch in the living room to rest for a while. He fell asleep sitting there.

He was too exhausted.

Maggie woke up and saw that it was 1 a.m. Fiorello hadn't come back, so she called him, but his phone was off.

Maggie felt uneasy. She put on her shoes and went downstairs, only to find Fiorello asleep in the living room.

Seeing him sleeping soundly, Maggie didn't have the heart to wake him. She took a blanket and covered him, staying by his side.

Since Adalia went missing, she had rarely cared about Fiorello. Her world was all about finding Adalia, neglecting him and forgetting that she was still his wife.

Fiorello's brow was furrowed in his sleep. Maggie felt a pang of heartache and wanted to smooth his forehead, but he suddenly opened his eyes.

Maggie was startled and said, "You're awake. Did I wake you?"

"No," Fiorello sat up, tiredly hugging Maggie's waist and burying his head in her lap. Only at this moment could he completely relax and feel secure.

Maggie gently massaged his forehead and softly asked, "Is there a lot going on at the company lately? Didn't you say last night that something happened to Holden? Is it resolved?"

"Holden was foolish. He was tricked into signing a fake contract and is suspected of taking bribes, amounting to over ten million dollars. It's a tricky situation, and he might go to jail." Fiorello rested his head on Maggie's lap and said, "Filling the financial gap is easy, but once it comes to light, saving him won't be easy."

"How could this happen?" Maggie was shocked. In this situation, she didn't feel it was appropriate to mention her pregnancy. "Where is Holden now? Who tricked him?"

"A woman named Christina. She set a trap for Holden. She seems clean, but I suspect someone is behind her, probably related to the person behind the Crystal Peaks factory fire."

"Did you find out who it is?"

"Kyle," Fiorello sat up and rubbed his temples. "A few years ago, I had a conflict with him. But even if we find out it's him, it won't help. Holden did take the bribe. His account has an extra ten million dollars with no clear source."
