Chapter 576 She Won't Be That Kind
The child is indeed Jenny's.
Gregory held the baby in surprise, not daring to move, afraid that any movement might cause the baby to fall.
His actions didn't look like he was holding a baby; they were more like he was carrying a bomb, which was particularly funny and ridiculous.
Gregory looked down at the baby in his arms and then at Fiorello, "Is he really my son?"
"You need to leave now," Fiorello directly urged him to go.
Having confirmed the baby's identity, Maggie felt a bit empty inside.
The baby's appearance soothed her pain of losing a child.
Dylan said, "You and this child are indeed father and son. It's late, my work here is done, and it's none of my business anymore. I'm leaving."
Gregory frowned, feeling a bit helpless with the child.
Gregory made a decision and handed the baby back to Maggie, "You guys take care of the child. If you don't want to, do whatever you want with him."
After saying this, Gregory left the child and ran off.
He ran very fast.
Maggie and Fiorello were silent.
Were they supposed to help Gregory raise his son?
Fiorello definitely wouldn't raise Jenny's son. He was about to have Holden take the baby away when the baby started crying loudly.
The heart-wrenching cries made Maggie feel uncomfortable, and she couldn't bear it, "Let's keep him for one night and decide tomorrow."
This is a child, not an object that can be tossed around.
Fiorello understood Maggie's concern, fearing that if the child stayed longer, Maggie would become attached.
Holden, who was just there to deliver documents, quickly left after seeing the situation.
And so the baby temporarily stayed at Sunset Hills.
The baby was strange. He wouldn't let Erin hold him, and he would cry whenever Erin tried.
Only Maggie and Fiorello could hold him.
It was already late at night.
Maggie put the baby to sleep, glanced at Fiorello smoking on the balcony, covered the baby with a blanket, and walked over.
Maggie gently massaged his temples, "This child probably wasn't thrown into the trash by Jenny. She hates us, but even a tiger doesn't eat its cubs. She wouldn't dare give the child to us. I was thinking, the person who abandoned the child probably wanted us to find him. No matter the reason, now that the child is here, have you thought about what to do?"
If the child had just been sent back, he should have been sent to Gregory or Flores Manor.
"Gregory, that bastard, doesn't even want his son. If our son had been born safely, he would be chubby by now and soon calling us mom and dad."
For the first time, Fiorello openly mentioned their deceased son in front of Maggie. It was their shared pain and longing.
They were the child's parents, and only they would always remember and miss the baby who never had the chance to see the world.
Maggie looked at the baby on the bed and said, "The first time I saw this child, all I could think about was our son. If he weren't Jenny's son, I would be willing to adopt him. A child's genes are important, too. With a mother like Jenny, I don't want to raise him."
No matter how kind she was, she couldn't bring herself to raise Jenny's son.
"I'll have someone send him to my dad's place tomorrow. He would definitely be willing to raise him," Fiorello said, holding Maggie's hand. "Maggie, let things take their course. Don't push yourself too hard."
Maggie's heart skipped a beat, "You knew all along?"
She had been secretly taking medication to prepare for pregnancy without telling him.
"You're my wife. We share a bed. Do you really think you can hide your little secrets from me?" Fiorello put his arm around Maggie's waist and, with a slight force, made her sit on his lap, "Having a baby requires a man. Taking medication alone won't work."
Maggie blushed, understanding his meaning, and playfully said, "You can be such a rogue."
