Chapter 294 The Truth Unveiled

From Farrell's words, Maggie had already sensed something was amiss.

She asked urgently, "Repeat what you just said. Did you also go to Mocha Haven Cafe for a date? Was your date me? That's impossible."

"You still won't admit it." Farrell took out Maggie's profile from the dating website and spread it out before her. "Look closely, this is you, Destiny. The photo, the name, it's all you. Mocha Haven Cafe, the manager confirmed it was there."

Countless doubts arose in Maggie's mind when she saw the profile.

'The person I had a date with that day was Farrell.'

'Not Fiorello.'

'It was Florez, not Flores.'

'Then who was Fiorello?'

'Did I mistake the person that day.'

'Impossible. If that were the case, why would Fiorello want to marry me? Moreover, Fiorello's situation matched what the dating website had described.'

Maggie couldn't believe it. "That day at Mocha Haven Cafe, it was really you? What did the dating website tell you? Who was the manager?"

"The website only told me your name, and it said you were young and beautiful, twenty-five years old, with only a mother. They also said you were eager to get married and had been on several dates. The manager's name was Morris." Farrell sneered. "You still won't admit it?"

Farrell had all the details right.

Maggie found it hard to believe.

'Fiorello's parents were deceased, and so were Farrell's. One was named Florez, the other Flores. Both worked at the Visionary Futures Group; both were thirty years old.'

'Such a coincidence.'

'If I had mistaken the person that day, Fiorello should have known I was there for a date. Why would he get a marriage certificate with me?'

Maggie quickly reviewed the recent events, pondering the doubts surrounding Fiorello.

'The dating website said Fiorello had no house, but in reality, the apartment at Cityhomes West was his.'

'He claimed to be a programmer at the Visionary Futures Group, but I had never seen him work late at night coding like other programmers. Instead, he had many social engagements.'

'I had never visited his workplace, and at home, I had never seen him make calls to colleagues or meet up with them.'

'Typically, people working in a company have a few colleagues they get along with and have social engagements with, but Fiorello never did.'

'He was always busy, yet when I was hospitalized after the car accident, he could take two months off to care for me. He wasn't afraid of the Quixote group, nor was he afraid of beating up Samwise.'

Suddenly, a doubt arose in Maggie's mind. 'Who exactly was Fiorello? What did he do?'

Seeing Maggie remain silent, Farrell stabbed the knife into the bedsheet and shouted, "Why aren't you speaking? I ended up like this because of you. You agreed to date me, which means you were going to marry me. So, you are mine."

"Farrell, listen to me. You've really got it wrong. No, maybe I got it wrong," Maggie explained incoherently, "I did go on a date that day, but it wasn't with you. To be precise, maybe I mistook the person. In any case, I had never met you before joining the company, didn't know you, and never deceived you."

"You're still lying. You've already admitted it. You were there that day. You are my wife." Farrell's face twisted with rage as he grabbed Maggie's shoulders. "You are my wife. You all tricked me out of so much money, so you'll pay it back. I've decided you will marry me."

"Calm down." Maggie's heart sank, fearing Farrell would lose control.

"You're guilty, and you want me to calm down? How can I calm down? I've been deceived and harmed by you all. It's all your fault." Farrell lost control, growing angrier as he thought about it, blaming everything on Maggie.

"I've spent all that money, so you are mine now. I want you to be my woman."

With that, Farrell pressed Maggie onto the bed, frantically tearing at her clothes.

Maggie was terrified, struggling with all her might, kicking out. "Farrell, if you dare hurt me, you won't get away with it."
