Chapter 723 Different Levels

Wendy was talking about the difficulties of life, and Francis wouldn't give her nothing.

Out of respect for the late Edward and feeling guilty towards Wendy, Francis still transferred ten thousand dollars to Wendy.

Ten thousand dollars wasn't even enough to cover the minimum payment on her credit card, and Wendy wanted more but couldn't find a good excuse.

She could only take the ten thousand dollars for now; having ten thousand was better than nothing.

After Wendy left, Imogen came back from grocery shopping.

Francis casually placed his phone on the table and went to the bedroom to freshen up.

Imogen heard Francis's phone ringing and came out of the kitchen: "Francis, answer the phone."

Francis, who was freshening up, didn't pick up, so Imogen wiped her hands and went to get the phone, saying, "This kid, calling him for ages and he doesn't respond."

By the time Imogen picked up the phone, the call had ended.

She was about to put it back when she saw a Facebook notification pop up on the screen.

It was a notification that Wendy had received the money.

Imogen saw that Francis had transferred ten thousand dollars to Wendy just a few minutes ago and was very angry.

She wasn't angry at her son but at Wendy for being shameless and coming to ask for money while she was out.

"Does she think Francis owes her family?" Imogen muttered to herself. She didn't make a fuss and put the phone back.

Imogen realized she had to get Wendy away from Francis, or she would eventually use up all of Francis's money.

The Holmes family was just a bunch of burdens that couldn't be shaken off.

Imogen thought of Dulce from Francis's Instagram and had an idea.

After cooking, Imogen went to the station to ask Francis's colleagues about Dulce.

Meanwhile.

Dulce was at Sunset Hills helping Maggie with the kids.

The two kids were getting more and more adorable.

Dulce teased Katie with a smile: "Give me a smile, you're so cute, you'll be a beauty when you grow up."

Katie stuck out her tongue and smiled, and Dulce excitedly said, "Maggie, Maggie, look, Katie smiled at me, she's so cute."

Maggie, who was feeding Nate formula, smiled and said, "Isn't it delightful?"

"Of course, I almost want to take her home and raise her myself. By the way, my parents have been urging me to date, get married, and have kids ever since they found out you had two. They want grandchildren. My brother is still in college and not reliable, so they only have me to push."

Maggie said, "Marriage is a big deal. With your qualities, it shouldn't be hard to find a good one. Anyway, I've prepared the wedding gift, just waiting for you to get married."

Dulce gently pinched Katie's little hand and casually said, "You should prepare Francis's wedding gift first. He and Wendy are getting close; I heard they're about to get married."

"How come I didn't know?" Maggie was surprised. "I haven't heard anything about it. Is Francis getting married, to that Wendy? Who told you that?"

"Francis said it. He even asked if I was free that day. I told him I had a date in Emberwood."

"That's quite a lie you told." Maggie laughed and cried, "Did Francis believe it?"

"Whether he believes it or not is his business. I can't attend my ex-boyfriend's wedding, can I?" Dulce joked, "Then I would sing a song for them, 'My boyfriend is getting married, and the bride isn't me.'"

Maggie was amused, "Looks like I don't need to worry about you."

Dulce had already adjusted herself.

Dulce asked, "Maggie, your husband isn't home. What's he doing in San Diego, on a business trip for so long?"

"I didn't ask," Maggie said. "He wanted me to go with him, but I couldn't bear to leave the kids, so I didn't go."

"San Diego is a great place, spring-like all year round. You should go and enjoy it," Dulce said. "Don't make yourself suffer. If you don't stick with your man when you're young, how will you have fun when you're old?"

Maggie blushed, "You never talk seriously."

Dulce laughed, "By the way, why haven't I seen Arya? What's she busy with?"

"My mom has been going out every day to meet friends, saying she's bored at home," Maggie said, holding Nate and smiling. "Actually, I know she's found a job outside. She can't sit still and feels more secure earning her own money than relying on us."

Maggie understood Arya's thoughts, and since the job wasn't too tiring, she didn't stop her.

Everyone needs their social circle. Arya couldn't fit in with Eleanor's social circle, so she couldn't hang out with them.

Dulce said, "Arya has worked hard all her life and still can't sit still."

Dulce stayed at Sunset Hills for a while and then left. After the kids were napping, Maggie called Fiorello.
