Chapter 602 Finding the Doll Man
Maggie's pregnancy this time made Fiorello extremely nervous, so he kept it a secret and did not announce it to the public.
After seeing Maggie, Fiorello went to find Dylan to inquire about Maggie's health and whether the pregnancy would impact her.
Dylan said, "Take good care of her, and there shouldn't be any major issues. With me around, her life is not in danger."
Fiorello felt reassured. Dylan was a very skilled doctor; as long as there was a breath left, he wouldn't let anyone die.
"That's good," Fiorello said. "Dylan, I only trust you. I'm entrusting Maggie and the baby to you. You must ensure Maggie safely delivers this child."
"Fiorello, is there something going on?" Dylan asked suspiciously, looking Fiorello up and down. "It's just a pregnancy; you don't need to be this nervous."
"I've made too many enemies over the years, and Jenny still hasn't been caught. After what happened last time, I won't let history repeat itself and let a tragedy occur," Fiorello said seriously. "Maggie's pregnancy must be kept secret to minimize the risk."
Dylan thought Fiorello was making a big deal out of nothing, but remembering the previous miscarriage involving Adalia and Maggie, he didn't say anything. He just promised, "Alright, leave it to me. Fiorello, any leads on Adalia?"
"No leads for now," Fiorello said, his brows furrowed. "The longer it takes, the harder it will be to find her."
Dylan looked at Fiorello for a few seconds and asked, "Will you give up on Adalia?"
Everyone knew Adalia wasn't Fiorello's biological child.
Now that Fiorello and Maggie had another child, Adalia's life or death might not be as important to Fiorello.
That's what others would think.
Adalia might be an extra person, and it might be better if she were gone.
Fiorello shook his head. "I've never given up on Adalia. Dylan, people outside might think, like you, that Adalia is a stain on my life because she's not my biological child, and it's good that she's gone. But I can tell you seriously now, Adalia is my daughter, always will be. The first time I met Adalia was at the Cityhomes West apartments. She wanted me to help her retrieve a kite. She timidly tugged at my sleeve, and when I looked down at her, I felt an indescribable heartache."
"She seemed born to be my daughter," Fiorello said solemnly. "I will keep looking for Adalia until I find her."
Dylan had never left Cyberland, hoping for a result and waiting for Adalia to come back.
She was his first apprentice. Even though they didn't spend much time together, he liked Adalia very much and wanted to teach her everything he knew.
Dylan believed Fiorello wouldn't give up on Adalia.
"Things will conclude eventually. No matter what the other party's intentions are, the truth will come out one day. Maggie's health is not good right now, and the first three months are especially important. She should stay home and rest, not run around," Dylan said. "Maggie is worried about Adalia and probably won't listen. You'll have to persuade her."
"Yes, I'll remind Maggie," Fiorello said. "This child is our hope. We all wish for a safe birth."
Maggie was also very aware of her physical condition, but she couldn't completely stop looking for Adalia.
Maggie could only shorten the time she spent searching for Adalia each day. She would still go out but would decide based on her physical condition.
Maggie still often waited outside the apartment where Isabella lived.
Fiorello was busy dealing with Holden's matters and couldn't fully take care of Maggie, so he had Brian follow her secretly.
That night, Maggie actually found a clue outside Isabella's apartment. She was about to leave when she suddenly saw a Peppa Pig doll in her line of sight.
Maggie excitedly got out of the car and ran towards the person wearing the Peppa Pig costume.
The person in the costume saw Maggie chasing after them and immediately started running.
