Chapter 373 He Knew Everything

Joseph wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, took a deep breath, and answered the phone. "Fiorello, what's up?"

He tried to sound normal.

Fiorello's voice was deep. "Dad, aren't you at the office?"

Joseph replied, "No, I'm out playing golf with Jordan. What's up? If it's not urgent, I'm going to keep playing."

Fiorello's tone was cold. "The Sincere Investment Project bid failed. Just letting you know."

Joseph felt guilty, realizing it was about that. "It's just a project. Visionary Futures has plenty. Don't stress."

Fiorello frowned. "You and Uncle Jordan enjoy your game. I won't bother you."

"Alright." Joseph quickly hung up, relieved.

He thought he had fooled Fiorello, but hanging up too fast made Fiorello suspicious.

Joseph must feel guilty.

Fiorello pondered and made a call. "Brian, check the background of Gregory from the Eagle Group."

Another Flores competing with Visionary Futures for the Sincere Investment Project? Fiorello was suspicious.

Jenny could find out Gregory's background, so Brian would be faster.

An hour later, Fiorello had all the info on Gregory.

Gregory's mother had once been Joseph's secretary.

After reading the info, Fiorello's expression turned cold.

Brian asked, "Mr. Flores, are you okay?"

Discovering a half-brother would unsettle anyone.

Fiorello sealed the info. "Don't mention this to anyone."

Brian replied, "Understood, Mr. Flores."

As long as Joseph kept it hidden from Eleanor, Fiorello wouldn't expose him.

If discovered, it would devastate Eleanor.

Fiorello chose silence, but Gregory wanted to be discovered.

He had competed with Fiorello for the project to get his attention.

But Gregory waited until nightfall and saw no reaction from Visionary Futures about the failed bid, nor did they approach him.

Gregory thought, 'I used Visionary Futures' bid price, yet no reaction at all.'

In Cityhomes West, Maggie couldn't sleep after napping too much during the day. She stood on the balcony, looking downstairs.

The incident of Alan losing his child was causing a stir, with police cars passing by occasionally.

Residents were talking about the missing child. It had been a day, and the child was still missing.

At that moment, the door opened.

Fiorello came back, saw Maggie on the balcony, and asked, "What are you looking at? It's late, why aren't you asleep?"

It was already late. Mark had left after dinner. Arya and Adalia were asleep.

"Can't sleep," Maggie said. "Alan's child is missing."

"No wonder I saw police cars," Fiorello said. "Still no news?"

"No news," Maggie closed the balcony window. "They even fought this afternoon. Alan chased Susan all over. I told Mom not to take Adalia downstairs; it's not safe."

"The new house is ready. We'll move this weekend," Fiorello hugged her from behind. "It's better and quieter there."

"Alright, I'll listen to you." Maggie wanted to move. Susan's missing child made her uneasy. Alan had even used violence. If the child wasn't found, he might really do something more harmful.

Fiorello touched Maggie's belly and asked gently, "Feeling okay? Still bloated?"

"Much better," Maggie smiled. "The baby is good, not causing trouble. I even had a bowl of soup and lots of veggies tonight."

"Eat small meals more often and control your diet," Fiorello said. "I hired a nutritionist. After we move, someone will handle your diet."

"Alright," Maggie smiled and asked, "By the way, is everything settled with Isabella?"
