Chapter 609 Continuing the Search

Fiorello thought it was unlikely; all signs indicated that Adalia's disappearance was related to Isabella.

No one was in the house, so where could Adalia be hidden?

Fiorello quickly noticed the car parked in front of the coffee shop. Isabella hadn't returned since she drove out.

Fiorello hung up the phone, immediately got up, and walked straight toward Isabella's car.

Isabella's face changed dramatically. She quickly followed and blocked Fiorello: "Fiorello, don't push me too far. You all keep suspecting me. Do you think I'm not miserable enough already?"

Fiorello, in a commanding tone, said, "Open the car door and the trunk."

Isabella said, "You have no right to check my personal belongings."

"Open it." Fiorello's tone grew even colder.

The icy tone and sharp gaze were intimidating.

Isabella, scared, trembled as she pressed the unlock button on the car key.

The car door opened, and Fiorello immediately began to inspect it, then opened the trunk for a look.

Nothing, still nothing.

Fiorello's face turned very grim as he slammed the trunk shut, causing the entire car to shake from the force.

Leaning against the car door, Isabella asked, "Did you find anything? Fiorello, I'll say it again, don't suspect me. If you can't find her, why blame me?"

Fiorello stared coldly at Isabella. "You know whether you did it or not. You'd better hope I don't find any evidence. If anything happens to Adalia, I'll throw you into the sea to feed the fish."

Isabella laughed self-deprecatingly. "Fiorello, Adalia is just a child Maggie had with someone else. Do you like her that much?"

Not finding Adalia with Isabella, Fiorello had no interest in wasting more time on her. He turned and got into his car, driving away.

After Fiorello left, Isabella's legs went weak, and she sat in her car.

She recalled an hour ago when she noticed someone following her. She had returned to the house, pretended to watch TV, closed the curtains, then went to the basement to move Adalia and cleaned up any traces of her.

She had considered taking Adalia in the car but changed her mind and hid her in the house.

Brian couldn't find her because the house had a secret compartment, with a door in the wardrobe connecting to the neighboring house.

Isabella had planned ahead. After abducting Adalia, she rented the neighboring house under the name Olivia.

Now that Fiorello had searched the place, her suspicion would lessen. She couldn't visit Adalia for a while.

Fiorello was indeed disappointed. He was almost certain Adalia was in that house. If Brian couldn't find her, it meant they were looking in the wrong place.

Fiorello met up with Brian and asked, "Are you sure you searched everywhere? No place left out?"

"Fiorello, I checked every place in the house where someone could be hidden. Nothing." Brian said, "Fiorello, do you think we might be looking in the wrong direction? Isabella isn't that capable of evading the police and taking someone away."

Fiorello frowned deeply. "This definitely has something to do with Isabella. We just haven't found her yet. Keep an eye on her. By the way, are you sure you weren't exposed?"

"No," Brian said confidently. "Isabella is just an ordinary woman, not that clever."

"Don't tell Maggie about today. Isabella is her hope. If this lead breaks, Maggie won't be able to handle it." Fiorello recalled the confrontation with Isabella and realized he had underestimated her.

With Adalia's whereabouts unknown, Fiorello couldn't act directly against Isabella. If Isabella was the only one who knew where Adalia was and she said nothing, Adalia would be in danger.

Fiorello remembered something and aked, "You mentioned earlier that you saw Isabella buying a lot of snacks, right?"

"Yes," Brian said. "Two big bags."

"Did you see any snacks in the house just now?"

Brian thought for a moment. "No."

Fiorello hadn't found any in Isabella's car either. So where did the snacks go?

Two big bags of snacks couldn't have been eaten already.

Who were they for?

Adalia?

Fiorello's heart skipped a beat. "Go back to that house and search again. She must still be in there."
