Chapter 659 I Have a Girlfriend

Jenny suddenly laughed and looked up at Francis. "Execution? Save it, no need to bother."

Francis raised an eyebrow. "Hmm?"

"I have cervical cancer, late stage, not much time left," Jenny said. "No need to waste bullets."

"I see," Francis nodded. "You've endured for so long, and suddenly wanted to go after Maggie because of your late-stage cervical cancer."

When he came to interrogate Jenny, he was still wondering why Jenny suddenly lost her patience.

Jenny had now given up resisting. She only blamed herself for having so many chances but never succeeding.

After finishing the interrogation, Francis walked out of the room.

A colleague came over and teased, "Francis, your wife is here."

Francis thought Dulce had come, handed the remaining tasks to his colleague, and walked outside.

Francis didn't see Dulce, only Wendy holding a thermos.

For the past few months, Wendy had been bringing various things, scarves and knitted sweaters when it was cold, new clothes when it was hot.

There were already quite a few rumors in the office.

Everyone was talking about Francis and Wendy being together. Wendy was a martyr's family member, and many in the office thought highly of the two.

Francis was busy with cases and didn't know about the office gossip. It was the first time he heard people calling Wendy his wife.

"Francis."

Wendy smiled as she approached. "Are you done? I made some soup for you to nourish yourself."

"Wendy, I told you, you don't need to go through this trouble. Don't bring things here anymore; it doesn't look good in front of colleagues," Francis said. "If you need anything, just call me."

"What's wrong with it? Haven't we been doing this for years?" Wendy pretended not to understand and smiled. "By the way, tonight Edward's dad, Neil Gray, invited you to dinner at his place. Are you free? Neil wants to have a drink with you. Since Edward passed away, he sees you as a son. You haven't visited him in a while."

If it were anyone else, Francis would definitely refuse, but he couldn't turn down Neil's invitation.

"Alright, I'll go after I'm done," Francis said. "I've been busy and haven't visited Mr. Gray."

"I understand. Kieran just mentioned that there's a lot going on at the office. That criminal who escaped a year ago has been caught," Wendy handed the thermos to Francis. "I'll go home and cook now. Come over at six to have a drink with Edward's dad."

Francis nodded. "Okay."

Wendy sensibly left, and Francis took the thermos into his office.

Just then, his colleague Kieran Bell came over. Francis said, "You take it and drink it. I heard you haven't been feeling well lately, so nourish yourself."

"Really? Thanks, Francis." Kieran didn't hold back. "Francis, your wife's cooking is top-notch. I've heard about it for a long time, and now I get to try it."

"Don't talk nonsense, what wife," Francis clarified. "Wendy and I are not in the kind of relationship you think."

"Francis, everyone can see that Wendy likes you," Kieran said while drinking the soup. "After Edward passed away, you took care of her and her daughter. We all thought you two would end up together sooner or later."

"She will always be my sister-in-law. Edward sacrificed himself to save me. Taking care of her and her daughter is my responsibility," Francis said. "I have a girlfriend."

"Who?" Kieran was curious.

Francis thought of Dulce, his expression softening. "You know her."

Kieran thought for a moment and suddenly realized. "Miss Quixote? Francis, you got Miss Quixote? You two together are a perfect match."

Dulce's status among ordinary people was top-tier.

Dulce's annual income was around ten million dollars, and many men dreamed of marrying such a woman.

In terms of income alone, Dulce was a notch above Francis. But Francis had a promising future; he had just been promoted and was still young, with potential for even higher positions in the future.
