Chapter 412 Five Months Pregnant
Kimberly owned up to it right away.
Eleanor got more annoyed with Jenny and said, "Mom, a decent girl shouldn't mess with someone else's marriage."
"I'm not talking to you," Kimberly snapped, then hobbled upstairs with her cane.
At the hospital, Fiorello kept Adalia company, reading her children's books and teaching her to write. He was super patient.
Maggie smiled and said, "When Adalia starts first grade next semester, you can help her with her studies."
Fiorello replied, "No problem, Adalia's smart and picks things up fast."
Adalia, happy with the praise, boasted, "I'm the best, Dad! Look, did I write this right?"
She had already learned a lot of words, could write her name, and knew over 500 words.
Fiorello checked and praised, "Good job!"
"Really?" Adalia beamed.
Maggie laughed, "Fiorello, don't overdo it. Look how happy she is; she'll get a big head."
Maggie then said, "Adalia, you've studied enough for now. Time to rest."
Maggie had some questions for Fiorello and waited until Adalia was resting to ask.
"Why did you go to the Eagle Group today?" Maggie asked. "I talked to Brian, and he said Gavin mentioned Gregory is behind it. Who is this guy, your competitor?"
Maggie was curious about Gregory. She had no issues with him, so it wasn't about her.
Fiorello's eyes narrowed slightly. After a moment, he said, "He's my dad's illegitimate son and a business rival."
"What? Your dad has someone else?" Maggie was shocked. Joseph and Eleanor always seemed so loving.
"It was a long time ago, and I don't know much," Fiorello said. "My mom doesn't know yet. I'll let my dad handle it."
"If Eleanor finds out, she won't take it well," Maggie said, feeling sorry for Eleanor.
Fiorello said, "I'll head back to the Flores Mansion later."
Maggie nodded. "Alright, you go. I'll take care of Adalia."
Fiorello stayed a bit longer, then left. Maggie didn't know what happened that night, but later heard from Holden that Joseph confessed to Eleanor. Eleanor locked herself in for a day and night, seeing no one and refusing to eat or drink.
Kimberly was thrilled and even suggested Joseph bring the illegitimate child home, saying the more, the merrier.
In wealthy families, fidelity seemed rare. It wasn't unusual to have illegitimate children.
Adalia stayed in the hospital for almost a month before being discharged. Isabella visited a few times during her stay.
Every time Isabella came, Fiorello was there.
Once, Isabella saw Fiorello with William, who was wearing the tie she had given Fiorello. Seeing her gift on another man hurt her.
Her little fantasy was shattered.
After Adalia was discharged, Maggie and her family moved into their new house.
Fiorello hired a nutritionist for Maggie, and Arya moved in too. Adalia started at a new school, and things seemed to be going well.
Maggie could ignore the little trouble Mark caused.
Maggie's belly grew, and while she was happy, Fiorello was worried, though he never showed it, always asking if she felt okay.
Maggie rarely went out, staying home to draw, design, spend time with Adalia, and take walks with Fiorello after meals.
In no time, Maggie was five months pregnant.
One day, Isabella's café opened, and she invited Maggie to the opening ceremony.
