Chapter 608 Falling into the Trap

Brian had been observing from outside. Isabella watched TV for a while, then drew the curtains, making it impossible for Brian to see inside.

After drawing the curtains, Isabella went down to the basement.

Brian waited outside for a long time. Seeing no movement, he knew she was no longer in the house and quickly called Fiorello.

Meanwhile, Fiorello had already arrived. Just as Isabella returned to Olivia's apartment, Fiorello's car appeared and blocked Isabella's car.

That was fast.

Isabella thought it would be Maggie, but seeing Fiorello get out of the car, she was somewhat surprised.

Isabella sat in her car, not intending to get out. She didn't dare to face Fiorello. In her current state, her inferiority complex made her unable to even look directly at him.

"Miss Adams, can we find a place to talk?" Fiorello stood expressionlessly beside Isabella's car, his emotions unreadable.

Isabella could guess why Fiorello was looking for her. At this moment, she shouldn't meet him, but it was Fiorello. She couldn't bring herself to refuse.

Isabella nodded. Ten minutes later, they arrived at a nearby coffee shop.

Since disfiguring herself, Isabella avoided crowded places and always covered her face, not daring to show the scars on her face and neck.

The coffee shop was crowded. Even though no one was looking at her, she felt extremely uncomfortable, always thinking people were talking about her.

Isabella didn't dare to take off her mask and didn't touch the coffee in front of her.

Fiorello, sitting opposite her, broke the silence first. "Miss Adams, do you know why I'm here?"

Isabella feigned ignorance, shaking her head. "No, I'm surprised you came to find me."

"If someone takes the wrong path and doesn't turn back in time, no one can help them," Fiorello said cryptically. "A person's actions have consequences."

Beneath the mask, Isabella's lips pulled into a self-mocking smile. "You and Maggie truly are a pair — even your manner of speaking is remarkably similar. Just recently, I encountered Maggie, and she too spoke of how I brought this upon myself. But tell me, Mr. Flores, is it wrong to love someone? Was it I who caused Maggie's miscarriage with some drug? It was your grandmother. What does that have to do with me? I had no obligation to take Maggie to the hospital."

Fiorello's eyes turned cold. "Isabella, your actions at the time constituted attempted murder."

"So, Mr. Flores, are you here to give me trouble?" Isabella sneered. "Fiorello, if I hadn't met you, I wouldn't be like this today. It's all your fault. You have no right to trouble me. If you have the guts, send me to jail." Isabella suddenly laughed. "Fiorello, you were the one who provoked me first."

Her actions alone couldn't fully prove she intentionally delayed. It was subjective speculation, not admissible as evidence.

Isabella knew that even if Maggie and Fiorello wanted to sue her, it wouldn't be easy.

Isabella clenched her hands tightly, staring blankly at Fiorello. "You want to put all the blame on me so you and Maggie can feel better. Are you afraid to face the fact that Kimberly killed your own child? Fiorello, you're just as hypocritical."

"Isabella, I, Fiorello, have a hundred ways to kill you," Fiorello said coldly. "Don't test my limits and patience. You know very well why I'm here. What you and James hid in your house will soon be revealed. I've already sent someone to look."

Isabella remained calm, only sneering. "What are you looking for? Fiorello, if you want to vent your anger, you have many ways. In my current state, I don't care. I'm all alone; there's nothing to fear."

From Isabella's calm demeanor, Fiorello couldn't see any panic.

Could his suspicions be wrong?

When Fiorello intercepted Isabella, he had already sent Brian to search her house.

At that moment, Brian called. Fiorello answered, and Brian said, "Fiorello, I didn't find anyone. I searched the entire house and found nothing."

Hearing Brian's words, Fiorello's sharp gaze fixed on Isabella.

This time, Isabella dared to meet Fiorello's eyes directly, fearless and open. "Fiorello, did you find what you were looking for?"
