Chapter 442 A Bloody Dream

The invisible enemy? That was the stuff of nightmares.

This enemy was lurking in the shadows while they were out in the open. It was a recipe for getting ambushed or straight-up crushed.

Holden suddenly had a lightbulb moment and asked, "Fiorello, you think it could be Gregory?"

He once joked about the Flores family needing more heirs so he could just chill and party without lifting a finger.

Turned out, his joke wasn't so far off. There was another heir, and this one was even older than him.

Fiorello shook his head. "Nah, Gregory ain't got the chops to pull this off. Plus, he's still a Flores. He just wants to beat me, show Dad and the whole Flores clan he's better. But he wouldn't do something that'd wreck Visionary Futures."

That's why Fiorello never went all out against Gregory. But as long as he was in charge, he wasn't about to let Gregory get accepted by the Flores family. He wasn't that forgiving.

Holden blurted out, "Fiorello, since when do you know Gregory so well?"

Fiorello just strutted into the abandoned factory, not even bothering to answer.

William chimed in, "You gotta know your enemy's strengths and weaknesses to win the war."

Holden quickly caught up with Fiorello. "Fiorello, the goods are gone. What if the clients come asking? This is a setup. Should we just play dumb? That fire was definitely their doing; it's a conspiracy. We can deny it."

"The contract's got your name on it, so you gotta deal with it." Fiorello's face was cold and sharp. "You didn't read the contract when you signed it. Too late now. They've thought of everything. Legal routes won't save you, Holden. I've taught you so much, and you're a business grad. Playing dumb ain't gonna cut it."

Fiorello's tone was heavy. He wanted to smack some sense into Holden, and he did, giving him a light kick.

Holden stumbled but steadied himself, saying, "Fiorello, I messed up. I'll take any punishment. How about you dock my allowance for this year and next?"

Fiorello's tone was icy. "Money can be earned back, but those five lives, can they come back?"

This hit Holden hard. The usually carefree and irresponsible guy was stunned.

Holden looked at the wrecked factory and heard the cries of the victims' families. He realized just how badly he had screwed up.

Fiorello didn't care if Holden could handle the guilt. As long as it made Holden reflect, this mess wouldn't be for nothing.

The shadowy figures wanted to frame Visionary Futures, targeting Holden. Even if Holden dodged one trap, there'd be another. But it would always teach him a lesson.

Just then, Brian showed up, "Mr. Flores, you were right. Gregory's already sent people to buy the goods we need and jacked up the price. He knows we're trying to buy from competitors and wants to corner us."

Holden heard this and said, "Gregory's trying to screw us over."

Fiorello's eyes were intense. "Let him buy."

Holden was confused and asked, "Fiorello, if he buys them all, what do we do? We gotta deliver in three days."

Fiorello sneered, "Didn't you just say to play dumb?"

Holden was speechless.

"Fiorello, stop messing around. I know I messed up," Holden said anxiously, "We can't let Gregory buy them all. He's kicking us when we're down."

Fiorello said sternly, "I don't have time for jokes. Brian, tell those sellers to raise the price. Gregory will buy them all even if he has to ask for a loan. No matter how much he buys, I'll make sure he can't sell it."

Brian nodded, "Got it, Mr. Flores. I'm on it."

Holden was still lost and scratched his head. "Fiorello, I'm getting more and more confused."

Fiorello couldn't be bothered to explain, "Figure it out yourself."

Over at South Hill Villa, Maggie finally fell asleep but had a bloody nightmare.

She dreamed of a pool of blood beneath her, and her belly started to hurt. She watched in horror as the blood kept flowing.
